Skyrim doesn't seem to care about player race

I find it strange how being an Altmer doesn't get the kind of comments you'd expect after the Great War. At worst, I get addressed as "Elf" by the guards. Even more bizarre when conversations with other Altmer; like talking to Enthir during a certain Thieves Guild quest, doesn't take the fact I'm also a high elf into consideration regarding a discussion on Falmer's culture. It's almost as though the dialogue writers forgot there were diverse playable races.

Yeah, the only real advantage to being an altmer is the apparent ability to camouflage yourself more easily wearing thalmor robes during diplomatic immunity. (Never tried this) It can also be pretty jarring to hear so many npcs being racist towards non nords, but when they see you they seem to forget about that.
