Skyrim CE Dragon Statue Tail Broken

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 8:17 am

Hey,

Picked up my PC collectors edition of skyrim and opened it up, activated my copy and took out the dragon and the tail is broken. Everything else seems okay but the tail is broken, I called up gamestop so I can return it for another collectors edition they told me I can't. So What do I do now, I am stuck with a broken dragon and paid $150.00 for it.

Anyone I can contact from Bethesda or something. I refuse to glue the tail but I will have to if I can't get it replaced.

Probably because gamestop doesn't actually sell PC games anymore, and their branch stores probably only had 1 or 2 copies of the CE delivered to them. :flamethrower:

Oh MAN I'd go freakin' NUTS if this happened to my CE. I have mine waiting at home, unopened, until I get off work. If I open that box and see a broken dragon statue, I'm going to throw a major fit! And for Gamestop to not take it back is beyond all reason! It's BROKE! I'd raise holy hell until someone at that store got me another CE or a complete refund.

When I asked to return it they don't accept opened PC product for return and broken statue is not their problem. Plus I already activated my copy. I will contact Bethesda by email. Hopefully they can help me.

Man, I'm still fuming about Gamestop not taking back your CE with the broken dragon statue. If that happened to me, that Gamestop employee would see my acrobatic-jester-swan-dive-tackle-FACE and then they'd get VLAD-ED!!

Yeah this is why I don't like buying from GameStop and usually just buy from steam but I couldn't resist the collectors edition cause I wanted the dragon.

Well I sent them a email using http://www.gamesas.com/eng/contact_email.php

So now I will wait and hopefully they will respond and help me.

Using email....that would take FOREVER to get the problem resolved. But go for it if you dont mind the wait.

But personally I think you should of not activated the game yet,now I dont think you can return/exchange it anymore at all.

They have no right to decline , did you speak with a manager ? have you threatened them with getting things to court ? You have to press them up a little to get things moving , that's how it works.
I doubt Bethesda will be much help , as this has nothing to do with them.

I'd tear that Gamestop up to hell and gone. Even if, Gamestop doesn't have a good reputation in Europe either, even I heard how devious they are with their practices and 'costumer service'.

Yeah that's main reason why gamestop won't take it back since I already activated it. But I wanted to play it so bad first thing I did was opened game activated it and have it installing and opened up dragon box after =/

I have the same issue. One of the claws that is supposed to make contact with the base was broken off in the box when I opened it and the statue appears to be mis-formed because it will not sit on the base properly (I cannot get the 3 remaining points of contact to touch the base at the same time because the wings are angled in the wrong direction). I haven't tried calling GS yet since they are not open here for a few more minutes but I have the feeling my store would be willing to swap it out but I don't believe they have any more collectors editions to swap it with (I know the staff pretty well and they said they only had the copies that were pre-ordered of the CE). I also used the contact form but I wish there was a phone number I could call.

You think they could open a new box, hand you the dragon, then send that box back, Steam code intact.

But hey, that would be good customer service.

So much false information and people being upset with Gamestop. First of all, it's a PC game. Nobody takes PC games returns anymore. Also it's a Steam game, that has been activated. So there is no way he can take it back. Also the store doesn't have any other CE to give exchange it anyways, so not much they can do. Now maybe if this was a 360 or PS3, he could have gotten a credit back but being a Steam PC game nothing can be done.

Can't blame Gamespot really, might as well blame Steam then. Only recourse the person really has is small claims court. Yes he bought a defective product (hehe not the game but the stature :P) so the store should be giving a refund or credit of some sort. So instead of saying "I am pissed or would be pissed at Gamestop" you should really beging out solutions. I don't think anything really can be done.

If you can, hopefully Gstaff will be able to help you out. He is the only person on the forums I know of who helps people on the forums when they have problems. Hopefully he reads this and will be able to tell you what your options are .

Also is it PVC? I thought that is what it's suppose to be made out of. From collecting Games Workshop minitures, I usually have to glue everything. Is this fixable? Yes I know that is not what you want espically since you paid over $150 for this. Since you will not get your money back, lets try to make the best of it.

Good luck, I really feel for you.

I agree with everything you said which is why I am not going crazy or anything, I was just hoping maybe Bethesda would help me. I still love the dragon and glad the end of tail is only thing broken. I remember when I ordered Bioshock Collectors Edition and my Big Daddy was missing his thumb lol but they sent me a new Big Daddy and a Art book when that happened. I am just trying to see if maybe I can get my dragon replaced. No big deal glue should be fine, still though svcks when you pay $150.00 and statue is broken.
