I've seen plenty of posts regarding issues with freezing, and followed the normal advice for getting Skyrim to run correctly on the PS3. However, every time I load a saved game, the loading screen that appears when you enter into a new area never disappears. If I try to quit the game using the console's Quit Game command, my PS3 restarts. Following the advice of others,

I've deleted the Game Data and patch (1.08, I believe) and re-installed the game and downloaded the newest patch. Still received the freezing problem.
I have over 100Gb of free space, as opposed to the recommended 2Gb.
I checked to see if any of the game saves were corrupted- they are not.
I tried loading a game with only a few hours (4) played, in case the file size was getting prohibitively large. Still freezing.
I even rebuilt my PS3 database to alleviate problems that might be occurring due to memory fragmentation. Still can't make it past the new area loading screen.

This is very disappointing, essentially I have an unplayable game. Thanks for any help or advice that you all might offer.

Have you tried with the Autosave features turned off? That will reduce the things going on at cell load.
