So I just got Dragonborn (on pc) and now I need to remake a character to play it. Lately though, I can't seem to get a character past level 10 before I change my mind and decide I want to make a different character. One day I want to be a Nord warrior, the next a Dark Elf battlemage, or a High Elf wizard, or a Wood Elf barbarian. Problem is, I don't want more than one character. Can't devote the time to them all, and I'd rather just have one to get through the main quest, dawnguard and dragonborn anyway. Big problem too is, since I roleplay, getting one that I can say "Ok, I can actually consider this character the dragonborn."

Just wondering if you guys had any tips or ideas for a cool character that I'd be happy with. I thought about doing a completely random generated character (race, six, skills, etc.) but if I got something like say, a Khajiit Nightblade, I just can't see that as dragonborn.

given that there are a million alternate versions of skyrim running, kind of like alternate universes, having a kitty cat sneak being the dragonborn is entirely possible...just not probable. lots of improbable things happen.

frankly I don't get the difference in race/class anymore.... you will control the pc and you will get good at the stuff you do the most...end of story. there are no permanent handicaps or bonuses really. i can't objectively say playinjg my khajit thief is different from my breton thief....it is all role play in my head. start using the roleplay in your head to have fun. seriously, I can committ to lifelong marriage but you can't committ to a freaking player character? just do it.

I think it helps to break it down like this:

How do you like to play?
As a warrior? Then choose a Nord, Redguard, Imperial
As a thief? Pick a Khajiit, Bosmer, Argonian
As a mage? Go with Altmer, Breton, Dunmer

Make up a story about their background, like what they did before they were taken prisoner.
Who were they
Where were they from
What did they do for a living
Why were they going to Skyrim

Invest some time in planning out your character and you will likely become more attached to them.
