Skyrim Last Elder scrolls But...Many many Expanions to keep

Post » Fri Dec 21, 2012 7:32 am

I like Skyrim alot as many probble do to..

Any ways I would love to kee my adventure going i don't want to have to start over with a new elder scrolls game and i no i will not be buying the next elder scrolls if there is one im tired of starting over.

Any ways i would love to see Bethesda stick with this one (Skrim) and keep the adventure going by releasing new expansions main story lines and quest.
How they can do it is easy they can add hole new contents and even make expanions to take you back to Cyrodiil by carriage or some thing and have a load time, or even walk across the boarder and it has a load time.

I don't think any new elder scrolls can really compete with being Dragonborn and as Dragonborn we should beable to explore all of Tamriel and even have the choice to become the next Empress or emperor of Tamriel.
I feel to just start a new elder scrolls of a new area of Tamriel is pointless and couldnt have such a rich story line as skyrim but skyrim could be so much better and keep going and more expanions would only in-rich skyrim and make it even better and people to keep playing it for many many years to come.

I hope others like the idea and would love to see the same for skyrim and to see the story of you being Dragonborn keep going and not start over again...

...What makes you think this is the last one? Just purely because being Dragonborn is badass?
[censored], we have at least four more provinces to explore in detail, and the MMO coming out. The sun ain't setting on this franchise yet.

I would love to see more content for Skyrim, and goodness knows that getting a new pc for a new game would be difficult anytime soon.

BUT, I am always looking forward to the next TES game and would never want them to stop making them. It isn't about starting over, its about continuing.

Trying to sustain a game purely on DLC is a bad idea, a very bad idea.

It's just not financially viable. DLC doesn't bring in as much money as a new game will.

I'm not saying that it would be last just think of each major expanion could be a new elder scrolls adventrue but you get to be dragonborn and keep exploring new places new areas,
You get to be a Vampire dosn't that mean u live for ever and your Dragonborn?

So way not allow Us the players to keep being dragonborn they could even let us when they make a new Elder scrolls have charctor Tranfer like in mass effect 1-3.

Mods already do this really. I mean I am always finding new things to do in Morrowind and it is 10 years old O_o

But I do see what you mean, the ability to at least port my toon into the next game to start the next story with would be something I might be interested in, so long as the story, and the areas to explore are vast and new.

I very much look forward to the next ES and am confident that the creators of Fallout 3, Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim can definitely come up with just a rich a story as ever.

I don't like the idea of transferring characters because that means that they would keep the same engine and character models for every game. It'd be like one of these modern games that never seem to advance.

These are the games of Bethesda Softworks. I want them to grow. (I also like to see the family chain between my characters throughout the ages.)

Oh please no.

Make a new one. Make it bigger, make it better. Make it somewhere where there's no snow; I get 6 months of that in real life :P.

When the player has a strong central story line, and a strong story arc, episodic gaming and character transfers can be great. But for a free-roam sandbox RPG like the Elder Scrolls, these advantages don't carry nearly as much weight, and the disadvantages are even more pronounced. Meaningful character transfers tend to lock in the character system, since drastic changes would prevent abilities from transferring over properly. While I don't like every change Bethesda has made between TES games, I have enjoyed the variety of the systems. This time around I've especially enjoyed Skyrim's perks (finally!) and classless system, two things which would have never happened if Bethesda had been using character transfers. Character progression would also become a major issue, since you can become a master of all skills in the Elder Scrolls. This means you could potentially start the next game at max level, with no further character progression.

If recreating a beloved character in future games isn't appealing (for example, it seems unlikely that thu'um will be featured again), there are a wealth of mods that will let you keep exploring in TES V :)

This is probably the last elder scrolls for this generation of systems. I can't wait to see a new elder scrolls on the next systems. Its going to be great.

Or instead of expansions where we keep on playing arguably the worst TES protagonist in another province, we can have a new game in another province with it's own story, new lore, and a new, better player character.

I doubt skyrim is going to be the last elder scrolls.
Games series who sell very well over multiple games tend to continue.
Looking back on Oblivion and Skyrim it will be no problem borrowing money in the bank to develop TES 6.

To be fair, it's a better idea than making a single player franchise into an MMO - but almost anything is a better idea than making a single player franchise into an MMO.

Still not a very good one, though.

I don't like the idea of transferring characters because that means that they would keep the same engine and character models for every game. It'd be like one of these modern games that never seem to advance.

Kinda funny considering they're still driving Gamebryo into the ground, no matter what they tried to say for Skyrim. Really, really hoping that Fallout 4 (or TES VI)'s engine is an entirely new one. Zenimax has iD under their umbrella, and 90% of what they do is make engines. Use one of those!

This is what I'm hoping for, too. Look at id's track record for games... Doom... Quake... More Doom and Quake... Wolfenstein... but still, it's the same concept... Rage, oh my, something new in, what... 20 years? In their defense, it has never been their strong suit, but, id has the ability to deliver some great tech to Bethesda, who is actually really good at making fun games (the stories still kinda svck, but still). Two of my favorite companies - two I grew up with - coming together was a dream come true. Didn't make much sense at first coming from two totally different sides of the gaming spectrum, but it's a match made in heaven when you look at it from the tech/gameplay perspective. We can only hope that the next generation of Bethesda games utilize Carmack's absolute genius when it comes to the programming side of things.

I'm torn between a better engine means a better future but also means mod devs will need to rebuild their mod utilities.

I mean, we still haven't fully figured out .nif file formats (or have we?), not to mention the save system is different now, and new record structures.

Although actually I'd like them to develop a new engine that can deal with these. Maybe even developing new proprietary file formats (or something) so they can release the specifications to modders with peace of mind. Modding community has always been TES' strong suit, unofficially bringing games back to life since Morrowind.

Maybe it's the last single-player Elder Scrolls. Who knows? Honestly, I won't take part in Elder Scrolls online. That would defeat the purpose of sites such as TESNexus.
