Pretty sure that G4 online polls aren't a major influence on design processes. Or ho boy, would we be in trouble.

I would say yes, coincidence. I don't know if the fact that more Zelda fans voted for their game than Skyrim fans affected Bethesda too much.

Yes, it's a coincidence.

Mostly because those "GotY" things aren't really all that important to many people.

...lol.

They announced when the patches were coming out LAST WEEK. Are you being serious? Because if you are, you're kind of bad at it.

I enjoy TES for what it is not because its a GOTY, although that award in it itself has really lost its luster of the years.

thats just a user poll from 1 horrible gaming site........I don't think Bethesda care about that garbage poll from a garbage site when Skyrim is winning in actual reviews.

So yes, coincidence.

LOL... I don't think so... Zelda and Skyrim are very different beasts, I would definitely say no.

The patch was announced last week, and one poll on one site does not make a definitive Game of the Year.

No coincidence at all. Bethesda was actually sitting around with their thumbs up their backside, rolling around naked in our money until they wandered across a random internet poll on a website who's key demo is teenagers and thought to themselves "Holy crap! We need to get started on a patch!". 24 hours later a patch was born. Pretty sure that's how it happened.

And the press announces a game-breaking bug for Zelda following that GOTY announcement. Coincidence? Conspiracy theories?

Skyrim is the GOTY at my house no matter what anyone says...and not everyone is having problems so that sounds like it's not all about bugs in the game.

there is not a single unified GOTY. Starting next year there will 5 different game of the year editions of 5 different games. I stopped caring what G4 had to say when they started giving games a crappy score with out reviewing the entire game.

This award is so pointless, i guess some people cannot function without other peoples godly opinions apparently.

since when did G4TV become the Oscars of videogames? There's a hundred game sites picking GotY's, none of them are official.

Game Developers Choice Awards is probably the closest since theyre picked by their own peers, much like the oscars.

I've said this once before, and I'll say it again.
This is most likely the stupidest way in the history of time to decide what game is better. EVER.
Even really devoted fan raging is better

Thank you
