Finishing the main quest is not completing the game.

Not by a long shot.

Two days is too soon?
Bethesdas internal Speed-run contest finished the main quest from start to end in about 2 hours.

The main quest is about 1% (if that) of the game.

For me, the main quest and the whole game are totally different things.

If you want to just hammer the main quest then that's your own perogative. If you think about the game as a whole and as an RPG you/your character wouldn't just flit from one main objective to the next. You'd spend time in towns talking to people, collecting supplies, doing side missions, training/leveling.

I feel like people who just go at the main quest for a few hours until it's completed don't get the point of an RPG

I did the main quest up until the point it allowed me to buy a house. Probably won't go near it again for weeks. There's way too much other stuff to do

The game doesn't end when the main quest ends. You can continue playing the game after the main quest is completed, and there is hundreds of hours worth of content.

If you think about it like that then yes but you are totally missing the point of an RPG

The main quest is short yes but it only comprises .17% of all total quests not including additional AI/radiant story quests.

Maybe if you want to preserve the "unkown" aspects of the game (ie, you don't want to know anything about it before playing) you shouldn't be browsing forums where all people are doing is talking about the game.

Also, Alduin is a giant panda who makes you pick an animal companion and battle his animal companion for the final battle.

Alduin roars, "I choose YOU mammothchu!"

Look, I'm not sure yet, because I've just started really playing today myself... but to be honest, what I've played so far has been real quality, and I've already enjoyed it a lot. The thing is that it's about quality not quantity, but if it's a lot of really quality content ( it seems to be ) then I'm happy. There's always mods out there, if you're on PC ( in my opinion, you should be on PC - the game was built on computers after all, right? ). Plus I'm sure there'll be some DLC too! By the way, as a side note, using large fonts and bright colors, as well as poor slang does nothing to enhance your point at all. If anything, it further incites what would be considered troll replies.

If you try really hard, you can beat Morrowind in about 10 minutes. Just saying. :D

For one there are no spoilers, just like in Oblivion. The main quest has no plot twists, no real "OMGWTF" moments, and yeah... It's essentially the ending you expect it to be.

The main quest has 8? main steps? I ask because it felt like there were FOUR main steps within the main quest.

I finished the main quest in 13 hours, it did feel a little abrupt at the end because
Spoiler
there are no credits.
<--------- not a story spoiler, but I'll put it in spoiler tags anyway (I think this is something people will discuss when they come to it).

But then you look at your quest log, and see that there are like a hundred quests you haven't done yet (side quests). There is the college of winterhold, dark brotherhood, bards college, and like 30 other "main" sidequest AREAs. Probably over 100 GOOD quests overall, then (infinite?) stupid quests (explore x cave because you haven't been there yet).

No, you bought a new game for $100 to play for hundreds of hours, the main quest is next to nothing.

Relax, I've played for 3 days straight and I'm still not finished with the Main Quest. Although I should say I've done some side quests, raided several dungeons, and just roaming around being my character, and I never fast travel. This is an RPG at it's finest. Don't buy it if you're a COD and BF fan

NO IT"S NOT TOO SHORT. SURE, IT'S SHORT IF YOU BULLET THROUGH THE MAIN QUEST, BUT THEN AGAIN ALL ES'S ARE LIKE THAT.

Big words of epic nonsense.

Relax Dude !

I was poking fun at you using the overly huge text in a few posts. Nothing serious. Anyway, I could plough through Oblivion's main quest very quickly. Elder Scrolls games aren't about that, though.
