Skyrim Mechanics

I personally find Skyrim's system of leveling to be an elegant solution that encourages creative character building. I love the fact that any play style is a viable option and how the abilities play off the strengths and weaknesses of the others. I keep reading threads about how weak certain skills are, and then I read threads about how some creative player found a workaround utilizing a different skill set or maybe even multiple ones. I love how I may struggle with a build, and then take a certain perk and suddenly the whole thing clicks. To me this is a hallmark of a great rpg system. The face value may seem simple with attributes being taken out and spell crafting being dropped, but the surface simplicity belies a complex system at work with robust mathematics operating just below the surface. Easy to pick up, difficult to master as the saying goes. Overall, I think Bethesda's solution works very well and actually impresses me. Thoughts?

They're not afraid to experiment which I like.
I almost look forward to the changes now.

Exactly. When I first played Skyrim it was clear to me this was not the Elder Scrolls of the past. It was grittier, darker, more real and less fantasy. The health, magic, stamina mechanic threw me at first, but once I got going I started to realize there was surprising depth there in how all things work together. I eagerly await to say the least.
