A Skyrim mod request.

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 10:38 am

I tried to find a place to talk about Skyrim mod requests but to no avail.

If there are any talented modders out there (and I'll be attempting to contact several individually) I would really love to see a Xena mod.

If anyone can do this / would be interested please PM me for a more extensive request involving things like chakram & companions etc.

Again, if there is another place for this thread, my apologies.

I imagine once the game is officially released, they'll open up a modders forum o_O

Is there a reason you're not going to try to do this yourself? The modding community thrives on everyone making their ideas, not so much trying to find someone else to do it for you.

Look into it, it's not as hard you probably think, and its very rewarding seeing hundreds, or maybe thousands of downloads next to your mod.

I guess I will look into it to an extent, but I honestly can't see me producing something that I'm satisfied with.

I don't know of what polearm you speak of, but the Xena mod for Oblivion I downloaded has a pretty decent take on the chakram. It is awkward to use but it works regardless.

Well that's how modding is (or any art form for that matter). You try, then criticize yourself and keep creating and getting better each time.

Yeah, I mean... I svck terribly at drawing, but I kept drawing Britney Spears until I had about 45 pictures and they eventually became decent. Mods however intimidate the feces out of me.

She had a staff in the first 2/3rds of the show and 2 sai in the last 1/3rd.

The companion in my Xena mod on Oblivion was modeled after the last 1/3rd and one of her sai was a shield.

Edit: And her awesomeness is called Gabrielle.

To clarify about the chakram aspect of the Xena mod for Oblivion, you have to equip it from your inventory every time after you throw it, because when it comes back it goes into your inventory.
To throw it you had to use the unsheathe function. To attack with it you just had to attack while it was equipped. The thing about it returning to your inventory was very annoying, but the concept was there. The only thing that really bothered me (aside from the mod not being true HGEC, Gabrielle being ugly as sin, and Xena's sword being 2 handed [omfg]) was that the chakram was identical on both sides, whereas the one in the show has a jagged pattern on one side, and the square pattern (that the mod used) on the other.
