Like a co-op, you mean? So that you can join up with a friend and slay dragons together? The idea is really cool and you're not the first one to suggest it, but it probably is really hard for Bethesda to implement it.

...I think you may need to flesh out your idea some.

...Unless your idea is just that we can see players but not interact with them at all, to which I say what's the [censored]ing point?

This.

Skyrim was built and coded for single player. To implement multiplayer they'd have to do one of two things.

1)Either tear apart the game code and rebuild it with the neccesary multiplayer support and code built in.

2)Or try to shoe horn it to the existing code.

Neither process is worth the effort needed. Option 1) would involve basically making the game again and option 2) is just a sticky plaster at best.

Very bad idea. TES was made for single player games, I don't understand the need to have every [censored] game have a added on co-op/multiplayer that does nothing for the game. If the game was designed like Borderlands or Sacred 2, that's one thing but TES wasn't designed like that. I don't need some other player screaming "KHAJITT LICK THEIR BUTTS" every time they kill an enemy, that would ruin my roleplay and a whole lot of other people's roleplays.

God no. Not every game needs to have some stupid MP jammed into it. Single player is a valid gaming experience and deserves to have development focused on it.

(And this is ignoring all the technical issues, like needing to program a game from the ground up to support stuff like that, if you want it to function properly. Trying to jam MP & netcode into a game that wasn't made for it would be a disaster.)

The stock answer would be "So four or more really good friends could adventure and slay dragons together."
Yeah...right...Really good friends...

We have an http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1366657-non-mmo-tes-multiplayerco-op-thread/ for all multiplayer discussion not pertaining to MMOs. Please make sure to reach the opening post, as it contains important ground rules for the thread.
