Damn! If I only had a job.. :(

I love orchestral music, and write some myself, so this would be awesome.

Some day..

As much as I would like to buy this to have it autographed by Jeremy Soule, already having the songs installed on my PC when I get Skyrim kinda defeats the purpose IMHO. Unless the songs are in a format other than .mp3 (GASP!).

Really awesome... with shipping it's about 35.00 - I may have to pick this up before Christmas to get a signed copy.

but yeah, 35.00 is a chunk of change nowadays, especially for a soundtrack. <_<
Not for CDs it's not! Usually when buying an album each CD will cost $10-$15 so $30 definitely makes sense!
And plus this isn't any soundtrack, this is Jeremy Soule! This music rivals the soundtracks put out by films nowadays!

...Why would I spend half of what the game is worth on the soundtrack that is already in the game? Yeah, signed copy is neat... but $30? CDs don't cost that much.

It's a 4-disc game soundtrack. 4 CD's for 30 bucks is a great deal, considering the content and the work involved in producing this music. As a producer myself, I am thrilled to support Jeremy Soule's work in any way possible. And not just him, but as an aspiring producer, I will gladly support all artists in their endeavors. This is exactly the mentality that kills industries.

For those wondering why the sound track was not in the CE I am suspecting this is why too. My guess would be that Jeremy got rights to sell the OST separate, which is fine with me if he's going to sign it and it's 4 disks! :tes:

Did you post this from a tent on wallstreet?

This is awesome!!! I felt bad since my mom wanted to get me Skyrim for Christmas, but I didn't want to wait that long...so this will be perfect! This isn't a limited edition type thing is it (where they could run out before December 23rd)?

I doubt it. Jeremy is part owner of the company (directsong) that is supplying it so i'm sure he could sign a few more by Dec 23rd if they had to.

C'mon! An Alduin statue, leatherbound artbook, making of DVD, hardcover 600+ page guide, and a 4 disc signed OST?! This is costing me over $200 now. My wife is going to F'ing kill me.

Do you have any confirmation of this?

When you get the PC version, the music comes with it. (obviously. Otherwise there would be no music in the game. :P ) You can just copy and paste all of the mp3 files from the music folder into wherever you play your music.

The difference is that the music in Morrowind and Oblivion was in plain old mp3 in the games files. Maybe they'll encode it in a format we can't read this time, like most companies do.

I'll take a CD over a lossy encoding any day, thanks.

There's no such thing as a format we can't read. They won't encrypt the music files.

All the music is in the game already, and I'll listen to it while playing. The only ST I'm interested in getting on maybe an MP3 player, is the Main Theme OST itself. And you don't break the EULA by recording that for personal use only.

OST means cheese in my country :D
Norge, Sverige eller Danmark? :D

While I do see your point, there's unfortunately no guarantee of that until I actually have the game installed on my computer and can check for myself. Like POLE7645 said, it might be encoded, or it might just be in the files in a way that makes it difficult to easily access - something that Skyrim recognizes as a sound file but most Windows programs don't. :P But I'll know that in eight days. If it's available, cool. If not, I'll play the game and see if I like the music enough to order the soundtrack. Win-win situation.

Have no fear. As i'm sure some of you are aware, the full soundtrack has been leaked, and it is amazing. Really, amazing. I only listened to a bit because I wanted to experience it first in-game, and I will definately be purchasing it from DirectSong. The sound quality is pretty bad but it gave me a preview of things to come.
