Skyrim Player Housing

Post » Wed Aug 08, 2012 5:27 pm

I really never lived in homes in FO3. I always set up far from civilization. Then I bought FNV, and lived in those homes, and they where nice. I would still find a shack or something to live in before that, though, but never found like a really perfect home. I got skyrim a week after it came out, and usually lived in homes I could buy. Kinda the same with FNV, except alot of the non-ownable homes in Skyrim, or caves, whatever I would want, had respawning containers and bandits, etc. So, until any kind of DLC for Skyrim that gives new player homes (besides Dawngaurd, its out :P) comes out, a topic like this (not sure if there are others) could be used for players like meself, or just for the heck of it, to post up any spot we could possibly live in that isn't purchasable. Anyway, not sure how this will work out, but I'm thinking of living in Broken Oar Grotto on my Redguard character. I checked the UESP wiki and it says it's safe, but I could use some more feedback on it.

(I play on the 360, so mods are out not an option, unfortunately :/)

I heard Helgen's containers are safe, but the bandits do respond. Broken Oar Grotto works, as well. If you kill Anise near Riverwood her shack is safe too (and it has an alchemy and enchanting table). There's also Riverside Shack south-west of Windhelm, Alchemist's Shack south of Ivarstead, and the Abandoned Shack north of Morthal. If you befriend Faendal, you can take his key and I'm pretty sure his house is fully-accessible to the player (though I can't confirm this). And of course, whoever you went with in the intro, their family's house in Riverwood is fully accessible to you.

You can also move into the house of your spouse...and a few of them live in out of the way locations.
