Skyrim Prima Guide Collectors vs Standard Edition

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 2:44 am

I'm thinking about buying the guide, but the shop i was going to order from is no longer selling the CE Edition of the guide. What's the differences between these two? I know the CE Guide is hardback, but is that it?

The CE Hardback guide is becoming quite rare now, they are on ebay for astronomical prices, and some are selling!

In terms of content from what I've seen its more or less the same as the paperback versions, except with the hardback you get free access to the Interactive map on prima's web site.

Oblivion had a similar online map, it was powered by google maps, pretty awesome feature listing every building and point of interest.

I bought the hardback version of Dragon Age Collectors guide a year ago because it was the only guide I could find, cost me $15. Hardbacks are much easier to keep open without having the pages flip back like you get with paperbacks, plus a hardback just feels more authentic.

Fans will love the hardback, but if your new to the series and just want a guide then go for the paperback.

I have to say the CE version of the Skyrim and New Vegas strategy guide and I have to say, the Skyrim guide is a much nicer guide, with a lot more detail.

Is this the interactive map you get access to with the CE Edition? http://www.primagames.com/games/elder-scrolls-v-skyrim/primaguides/243

If so i'll just buy the paperback and buy the interactive map online.

If you're playing on steam, consider getting the prima guide on there, as it's accessable through the overlay while you're playing.
