Skyrim Release

Post » Thu Oct 04, 2012 8:16 am

remember before skyriim was released and we would count down 2 days to go! and we would discuss whether we would order on amazon or steam or in store pickup. then we would get our game on the launch day and know that alot of people were doing the same thing, waking up to buy skyrim, loading up and playing nonstop for those first few days. that was a good feeling :)

Got a little more than a month before we can start getting all "Skyrim is a year old!" up in the hiz.

How couldn't I remember... :P I literally counted the days out for a day free of work (I explicitly prepared it so), a nice McDonals breakfast, then getting Skyrim PC-DVD and going home....it all went good until I found out I just couldn't find the game anywhere...there were either no copies of it, or the ones that were avaliable were all pre-purchased.

I was lucky enough someone cancelled it's pre-purchase on some big department store, and that A SINGLE COPY of it was avaliable for purchase...in compensation for nearly having a heart attack, I got that nifty cloth map that all pre-purchases had :)

I was scheduled to get off work at 6am....6 hours after my local release.
I put in for 7 hours vacation time so I could get off at 11pm. It got approved and then canceled the day before. i was sooooo pissed.

At the last minute, my boss let me bail at 3am...so I was only a few hours late.

The guys at work were getting some good laughs though.

Hehe....I'm 51 years old and still taking time off for a TES game release.

Life is good.

I got mine a month late, since I had a busy period at school, and didn't want Skyrim to interfere with that. Then I finally got the game, and man, did I enjoy it - and I still do to this day.
