Morrowind was hailed as a brilliant game in many regards, but criticized for poor combat. Oblivion was hailed as a brilliant game in many regards, but criticized for poor combat. Skyrim is being praised as a brilliant game in many regards, but criticized for poor combat.
At what point does Bethesda say, "with people playing these games for hundreds of hours, maybe we should try to make the combat mechanics more entertaining"?
Cuz its hard to do? Shooters are easy. Point. Click.Bang.Dead. Swinging a sword or an axe is lots more complicated ... even more so in FPP. The next Elder scrolls should develop a more physics based comabt system ( hiting somebody with a freaking MAUL on the noggin should have the appropriate head-mushing result ... no matter the HP)
