It's probably my favourite as well, beating Oblivion by a slim margin. And that slim margin is mostly that 'coming home' feeling - Skyrim was my first Elder Scrolls game, and holds a special place in my heart for that.
No game I've played beats Skyrim for world design, IMO. The sheer detail, the hand-crafted feel, the varying regions and the culture to back it all up really make it a brilliant game world. And the game has so many roleplaying opportunities, and things to enchance roleplaying. Skyrim's questlines are probably it's weakest point, but they add a ton of roleplaying opportunities. Take the College of Winterhold for example. From it I've had a scholar, an alchemist and an Arch-Mage who spends most of his life tending to his duties. Questlines end, but roleplaying can last forever.
It's not flawless, but it's flaws seem non-existent as you wander through the Rift on a sunny day, listening to the birds and the music, without a care in the world.
