SKYRIM STUTTERING! JITTERY CAMERA! WILL SOMEONE HELP!

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 11:51 am

Hello everyone! When I am outdoors in skyrim, or indoors in caves, when I turn my camera to look around my screen stutters and jitters all over the place. While doing it I checked with fraps and I am getting 60-63 fps so it isnt anything wrong with my specs. I have a i7 duel core 3.4ghz and I also have one single HD radeon 6850. I have tried near everything and the problem still exsists!

The only thing that works is by running it in windowed mode and windowed mode is extremely annoying. I also use a program called dtroxy which limits my fps, so I limit it to about 59 fps and its still somewhat there. I know there are many people who suffer from this problem but yet bathesda has not fixed it and has not seemed to even notice it...

By the way I am using an xbox 360 controller to play it on my pc and the problem is just as bad when I use my mouse, I have tested it. Someone please help!!!

Use DXTory but do not limit your fps. Just have it displaying your framerate.

That fixes it for me, no need to tick the limit fps box.

Put 60 in that box but do not tick it.

And on the fps display screen, have the box ticked for default settings, and display fps.

This works for me and some other people.

I used MSi afterburner to limit my FPS on my 6950's and that worked also for me.
(i limited it to 59fps and left vsync enabled)

But as you said, it works best in windowed mode.
So I started using the Simple Borderless Window mod and it works perfect for my setup.
The game will start windowed and go full-screen a few seconds after it's started, then you really don't even notice you're using it.

Only drawback is i cannot use both my 6950's in x-fire , but the game runs just fine on one card anyway.

Have you done this?

1. In skyrim options tick the Windowed Mode box.
2. Set the resolution to what you play at. e.g. 1920x1080.
3. Put SBW.exe into your Skyrim folder (the one containing TESV.exe and SkyrimLauncher.exe)
4. Create a desktop shortcut to SBW.exe and launch the game from there.

The game will load in a window, but after a few moments should pop into full screen.

Ok I have a question about that. I downloaded the SBW mod using nexus mod manager... So idk where to find the SBW.exe anywhere? I also dont get the autohotkey part too well...
1: Download the Simple Borderless Window mod manually, not through nexus mod manager.
2: Extract the downloaded file and you should now have a file named SBW.exe, right click that file and select copy.
3: Now navigate to where skyrim is installed on your pc, it will be something like c: / program files / steam / steamapps / common / skyrim
4: Right click on that skyrim folder and select paste to place a copy of SBW.exe into your skyrim folder.
5: Now open your skyrim folder and find the SBW.exe file you just pasted there and right click it and select SEND TO >>>>> DESKTOP (create shortcut)
6: Now you should have a working SBW.exe shortcut on your desktop.

Ok, now open the skyrim launcher as you normally do and change your settings to WINDOWED and your desktop resolution., then CLOSE IT, you will now be launching the game with the SBW.exe shortcut you made above instead.
With steam already running, just start the game by double clicking the SBW.exe shortcut you made on your desktop above.
Once the game has started , it will be in a window , just let it sit at the main screen for a few seconds until it finally re-sizes itself to fullscreen, then play the game.
