Skyrim 3D (Test)

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 3:29 am

Greetings,

I read that Bethesda got the opinion, that 3D isnt good for Game experience and rather spoils a game, than improves it.
Thats the reason why Skyrim wasnt made for 3D. Although i was getting a new Laptop anyway, which is one of the first "full/complete 3D laptops", so i thought -> give it a try.

After playing some games like Stronghold e.g , my opinion of 3D was like.. uhh.. WHY DID I HAVE TO BUY A 3D LAPTOP?! OMG CRAP!

Than i played Shogun2, even it was amazing to watch it shortly, the 2D in 3D transfer wasnt very good so you cannot really play it in 3D (also a lot of things are wrong simulated)

Very much disappointed, i gave Skyrim a try. I started it and played it.

I done the first 15-20 Minutes in 3d, after that i had to stop (it hurted a lot, i wasnt used to play 3d, because most other games i stoped playing 3d after 5-10 minutes, cause its so bad)

But the 3D i enjoyed in Skyrim was just amazing. I felt like i was in the world and there was no game or movie i saw whish was transferred better (from 2 in 3D).

So i really really beg that a guy from bethesda who got a 3D capable laptop, just starts it and plays 1 hour.

Right now, i play the Game 3D all the time (after you got used to 3d, you do not have to stop playing after 15-20 minutes and can play several hours, you can also get very cool glasses, you do not mind when you are used to it (of course that kind of glasses is a bit expensive).

But still, the 3D i enjoy is the best i ever had in a Game so far, and just awesome. It makes the perfekt game even more perfekt. So please... give it a try, bethesda and think about a future 3D support, which will add some effekts e.g. Dont know, as a download code or something.

I would even pay 20-30 Euro for a version with 3D support and effects.

So.. jeah thats it :D i just wanted to make my point clear and say that punishing 3D before having tested it is..^^

i just use normal 3 D glasses, but there are people who are developing kinds of "3D headsets", my system is : 16 Gig DDr3 ram , Intel R Core TM i7 2860 CPU @ 2,50 GHz + Nvidia GeForce GTX580M
, and 3D screen. I have ordered him by alienware (m17)

Thank You very much for sharing. This is very, very interesting. I tried to play Oblivion in 3D but the colors went bad and it was a crap in generally, no real 3D effect there. But this is interesting. Have to consider when I update my PC.

You can get free 3D drivers from http://www.iz3d.com/driver You can get some good quality red/cyan glasses from Ebay very cheaply (I got a 3-pack).

OK so it's red/cyan anaglyph, but hey, it's a free driver and works very well, and it doesn't replace any video drivers it works over them. It will give you a very good impression of what 3D gaming is all about. I tried it in Fallout 3 and it worked pretty well. You can set the separation and convergence/divergence to your liking. You can even set the separation for one eye only, meaning that for example in ArmA 2, I could still use the ironsight on a rifle by closing my left eye, because the right eye was still aligned to the ironsight ingame. I just moved the left eye separation separately.

Read "Alienware", felt great disappointment, couldn't be arsed to read an illogical post in seriousness.

I play some games in anaglyph 3d using the free drivers, haven't tried it with Skyrim yet but I will do at some point.

Yeah, giving out system specs in discussing a poorly supported feature's implementation in a newly released video game makes no sense at all.

sorry should′t i say whish laptop i use? i mean there are VERY few Full 3D laptops out there, i think Sony, Toshiba and Alienware got one, i dont know other companys with 3D gamer laptops.
I got very bad experience with Toshiba, still i was between "do i buy a Sony or a Alienware?" , in the end i just decided for the alienware because i wasnt really sure if i can trust sony, because sony does awesome tv/console but.. i dont know if they can do laptops.. also i asked google, and google told me that i should buy a alienware (feedback e.g).

This is a serious post though, i dont know if you got bad exp. with alienware, but i got very good ones, of course i cant compare with other 3D laptops. I just know that its the best game experience i ever had, and i play closely every game, also i dont want to get blames when someone here post a totally review from his 3D experience, that people tell me i lied, because i cant say if EVERY 3D Laptop does it so good, the only thing i can say is, that the 3D i had with the M17 (and alienware) was awesome.

If someone got other experiences, well - but you cannot say "3D is Good/3D is bad" , because it could be that for example this cheap "way" someone suggested in this thread, will svck. But if someone says 3D svcks, because he tested it with i dont know such wierd red / green things, i can still say : well, than your 3D system svcks.

Although, if i would not have said, that i got a Alienware with the mentioned specs, at least 5-6 people would ask shortly. I just prevented that because i posted this in another forum too, where everyone asked for my system.
