If you answered "cold weather" and "appropriate clothing", kudos to you.

I would've loved to have Bethesda tackle the climate changes of Skyrim a little more. Watching my char trek up a mountain path into freezing conditions in his sleeveless Studded Armor is a little odd haha.

An additional "Cloak" clothing layer would've been a fantasic addition, especially for this installment of the series!

And instead of it being just a cosmetic item, Bethesda could've added an environment addition to the colder environments, meaning a small amount of cold damage would hit player, if they were did not apply a cloak in the colder locations.

It also would have been fantastic to see combat in heavy cloaks as well. We've seen it on screen with LOTR and GoT, but never really in video games.

Too late now I guess. Although if Bethesda chose to release a "CLOAK DLC" with a broad range of options and Cloak creation via the "smithing" skill, I would probably buy it hahaha.

Don't Khajiits have built in fur cloaks?

I really like your idea about the frost damage without a cloak, and it would look bad ass. Those fur styles fit perfectly with the Nordic theme after all.

I haven't gotten to play the game yet but I hope there is a fair amount of variety in terms of clothing! (even if we are missing some essential cold weather gear.)

Links don't work, and I can tell you now that at least fur and leather look appropriately warm.

Like an addition to the Items in the game, that lets you equip a cloak ON TOP of your current clothing. It's purpose would be to stop cold damage in cold environments, however that would require Bethesda patch the game to allow the damage to occur in those environments. Also, if they charged for the DLC (which would be the plan) adding cold damage to cold environments would force people to buy cloaks. Which is NOT cool.

So I guess they would have to purely cosmetic. Unless the cold environment damage was added to the game as part of the DLC! Then that would be fine.

Imagine being able to tailor the look of a cloak depending on which animal skin you used! Bear, wolf, fox, elk... Troll!! haha

Seen the recent Harry Partridge animation. The new one?

The Nord male partway through that sums up my answer to this thread.

Well, it's like this. Rather than make a "cloak DLC", Bethesda will just add a mini-timer to the UI that'll tell you how long you have before hypothermia sets in.

See? "Clock DLC."

This one can be controversial. It would be like saying make it so that you NEED to eat in order to avoid starvation and losing health.

Both will be realistic, but may annoy the gamer.

But, I don't see why they can't make a hardcoe mode like in New Vegas that requires eating, using proper cloaks, arrows having weight, etc.

So some crafty game modder will get rich making appropriate cold weather clothing and cloaks, eh?

I see a opportunity here for someone. Bethesda left the door open.

I do not know how you will be playing, but my character is going to have the soul of a dragon.

So, anyways, I am not quite sure how I am supposed to play someone with the latent ability to breath fire and yet not generate enough heat to keep my body from being chilled. But if that's how any of you want to play your character, I am not inclined to be stopping you.

(For the record, though, if when you are physically active enough, you can build up so much body heat that you wind up sweating even in freezing weather. Nutrition can be a problem of course, and also staying warm while you are sleeping can be an issue. Then again, so can healing up from having a sword stuck through your arm....)

Me? I am looking for a mod that gives me subtle water vapor "particle effects" on exposed skin.
