Skyrim: The Movie...

Bethesda should team up with a major talented movie company and create and release in movie theatres "Skyrim: Rise of the Dragonborn"!, Anyone agree with this idea???

No, I don't like the idea. Game movies aren't exactly known for being good.

Sorry about the idleness, but I am just going to copy/paste what I said in the last Skyrim : The Movie thread :

"So who's gonna be the Dragonkin or whatever? Arnie? Viggo?"
"Hmmm, we were thinking the Dragonborn should be a woman."
"What? Mind you, Meeeeegan in a horned helmet and that fur skirt. Interesting."
"And there won't be a horned helmet. We thought it would be a pleasant surprise if the Dragonborn was a sorceress."
"Aren't they the bad guys?"
"Well, there's Gandalf; he was a good guy."
"Got ya. So, who to cast. Meeegan, Angelina?"
"We thought more of a character actress. Looks won't matter under all the make-up it would take for her to be a talking lizard."
"Uh, I'm not sure I am feeling this. These Dragons do get to blow things up, right? And there will be a chase?"

It could, but I have yet to see one that is done well. And the story in Skyrim is far from orginal, the lore is what sets Skyrim, and TES in general, apart. Combine it with characters who are unrelatable(Esbern, Delphine, Arngeir), a Hero who just happens to be powerful enough to kill dragons and a villain we don't learn much about other than that he was the ruler of Skyrim in time immemorial.

Another thing is that the most interesting conflict in the game(by lore at least) only makes a couple of cameo appearances which also prety much locks out the best written character(Ulfric).

I simply can't see how a Skyrim movie would work.

It would probably end up being a pretty boring movie. Very few video game movies turn out well. Although i thought the Silent Hill movie was decent, but still not very good.

Depends who done the movie and who was cast. I would support such an idea if it was original and not based on any of the games and if Chris Nolan was director.

The whole thing about there being no good movie adaptations of games may be true but let's face it how good a movie could you make with Mario? There is a lot more potential with TES and there were also no good superhero movies until Nolan's versions of Batman

Just make a movie about Maiq. It'd be what everyone wants to see. Not a movie about some Dragonborn guy. Who cares about that. We want to know if Maiq is a virgin, a lier, and someone you don't want to see naked.

True but that is not necessarily due to the game content the movie is based on. It's mostly due to the studio rushing the movie so it cashes in on the game, or them assuming the link to the game will sell the movie so they need not put much effort into it.
