Skyrim: The Thu'um Unleashed

Spoiler
There's quite a bit of similarities between the Dragonborn storyline and Starwars the Forced Unleashed, don't you think?

Miraak's Darth Vader, HM is the Emperor, and You learn shouts and abilities to augment your shouts from HM to kill Miraak. The comparison isn't perfect, but the Emperor's goal is always to corrupt a Jedi to the Dark side. HM wants to gain servants, in this case you.

You learn about shouts from his realm or him directly, just a couple, and by doing so, let in more and more of his influence, becoming more and more like Miraak in a way, or learning "the dark side of the thu'um" (someone's gonna flame me for that one probably). Kind of like what Anakin did in the movies to become Darth Vader.

Then you kill Miraak, and in HM'S eyes you become his servant, which starkiller can choose to kill darth vader in the game and he becomes like him because of it. Another thing. Anakin was left for dead by Obiwan, but was "saved" by the Emperor and basically became his slave, and Miraak before he was defeated was saved by Hermaeus Mora and became his slave. Now that seems more of a mix of all the star wars movies, and the first forced unleashed into one, sort of, and as I said, the comparison isn't perfect and needs a little work, but the similarities are there. What do you think?

See any similarities to this or other movies or games? Do you like the similarities? I personally would have liked to defy HM in some kind of way, but we still are told we have a choice to either continue this path that Miraak did, or make our own. I chose to make my own, and did not let HM get to me, despite the way he played me. It was either that or let Miraak return and bring a little Apocrypha to Nirn.

Edit: Wrong section, my bad.

You're comparison is kinda forced(lolz). The ideas of betrayal, corruption, and the necessity/danger of power are pretty common themes throughout human history. I'd wager the only bigger one would be the theme of good vs evil.

If Miraak had taken us under his wing at first, then I could agree with you, but as it stands HM was the one to pulling the strings right off the bat rather than just at the end.

True, but it was the first thing that came to my mind. The relationship of HM, you and Miraak seems more like a blend of these themes, but yea, it is a bit forced.

I'd say it was more like Anakin and Palpatine, but there's no "Miraak" in that movie, so its like a combination of that and forced unleashed if you killed Darth vader....sort of.

Maybe I just haven't gotten my star wars fix in a while.
