After having started a new job fairly recently, I've decided that I'm going to build a high end gaming PC, mainly just so I can get into modding Skyrim. I love watching Gopher's mod videos, and I love seeing what the community can do with a game that I love so dearly. So, in preparation for me getting a new PC that can actually run games, I downloaded steam and a few games that my laptop can run (badly). I was content, everything was good. But then yesterday I noticed that the http://store.steampowered.com/sub/18743/ was on sale on Steam for $90. 18 games, including Skyrim. I couldn't pass that up. After the games finished downloading, I figured what the hell, I'll try it on my laptop and see if I can run it at low rez. Unfortunately my laptop literally cannot run Skyrim. I boot up the game, I get some kind of spinning texture that I'm assuming is from the carriage you're in at the start, audio that plays very slowly and then...nothing. I even tried using the lowest resolution possible with the lowest setting possible.
Alas, this experience hasn't soured me from trying it once I get my full gaming PC. In fact this experience has made me excited to be able to finally play games on PC and mod the hell out of them. For now, I'll stick to my xbox playing the dragonborn dlc for one of my favorite games of all time.
