Post » Sun Nov 04, 2012 6:27 am

Well it's almost been a year since Skyrim's release. I made a http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDlOxtoMTdc&feature=plcp to just spotlight the general beauty of the game.

What were you doing this time last year, waiting for the game?
Stalking the gamesas forums
What were your impressions based on the pre-release trailer?
Extremely hyped, couldn't wait. Watched every update, broadcast, trailer
What was your first impression upon playing?
This is awesome... But really buggy
What do you think of the game now?
One of the most gorgeous, entertaining games I've Bethesda came through yet again. DLC's could use some work though.

What were you doing this time last year, waiting for the game?

Living my life, occasionally checking forums.

What were your impressions based on the pre-release trailer?

Like all things Bethesda, I didn't think anything until the game was released, since Todd Howard and Bethesda PR are kings of hype and lords of vague 'possibilities,' that never see the light of day due to constraints.

What was your first impression upon playing?

Very cool, more immersive than Oblivion, or it would be if this DAMN UI WORKED. I don't even mind that it's a console UI, I just want it to work. I have to press tab to exit menus? Why can't I change anything without this game being buggy? Why is this game so damn buggy? Still, I like it more than Oblivion. I can't wait for mods or official patches to fix this unpalatable mess.

What do you think of the game now?

Over-hyped, overrated, but still very good, especially now that mods are out there to fix the specific annoyances only encountered on my platform, and more things than Bethesda has the time to fix. Better than vanilla Oblivion, but modded Oblivion is much better than modded or vanilla Skyrim. Morrowind is still 100x better and there is no comparison.

What were you doing this time last year, waiting for the game?
I played 'Dark Souls' before Skyrim was released.
What were your impressions based on the pre-release trailer?
I didn't see it. The first impression before opening the pre-ordered copy was an extensive gameplay video by Epicnamebro on youtube.
What was your first impression upon playing?
I was like "hurray"... archery felt great compared to Oblivion.
What do you think of the game now?
I never did all the game has to offer, played through the MQ just once, because to my mind this game isn't attracting me as much as I thought.

What were you doing this time last year, waiting for the game?
Counting the days and trying to finally finish Oblivion's MQ before November 11.

What were your impressions based on the pre-release trailer?
Watched that trailer so many times!

What was your first impression upon playing?
Completely blown away!

What do you think of the game now?
Amazing how well it's held up - I'd say it's still my favorite game, even a year after release.

What were you doing this time last year, waiting for the game?
Waiting for the game to get released. Other than that, lived my life like normal.

What were your impressions based on the pre-release trailer?
This better be good! At least it looks more loyal to lore than OB ever did...

What was your first impression upon playing?
This is... wonderful!

What do you think of the game now?
I joined the TES fandom in late 2003 and played all TES games, played OB for a dozen times and MW for two dozens.
Yet Skyrim managed to become my favorite TES game.

What were you doing this time last year, waiting for the game?
Living my life regularly, didn't think his game would be as good as it was honestly.

What were your impressions based on the pre-release trailer?
First trailer is still one of the best trailers I've ever seen, the live action one was okay.

What was your first impression upon playing?
[censored] bricks, I much preferred this game over Oblivion, and felt like I was finally playing a true Elder scrolls sequel.

What do you think of the game now?
Due to mods, it still holds up quite well, I'm having as much fun as the day I started.

What were you doing this time last year, waiting for the game?
This and that.
What were your impressions based on the pre-release trailer?
Very actiony, and I didn't really care for the generic Dovahkiin character. It was nice seeing the world though.
What was your first impression upon playing?
Blown away by the gameworld, as is always the case during the first few hours of playing a TES game.
What do you think of the game now?
It's good but not great. Disappointing compared to it's predecessors.

Discussing about Skyrim
What were your impressions based on the pre-release trailer?
Didn't like the footage itself. Music was cool.
What was your first impression upon playing?
Why did it crash on the main menu?
What do you think of the game now?
Much better than Oblivion, still not as good as Morrowind IMO.

What was your first impression upon playing?
Can I ever went to university again?
What do you think of the game now?
It has its weaknesses, but the 50 euros couldn't have been invested any better. I love it.

Why is everyone copying the questions, op never said to do that lol, well anyway...

What were you doing this time last year, waiting for the game?
Watched a lot of films that where like Skyrim to get me hyped, the classic Conan the Barbarian films came to mind as one of my favorites, also the new Beowulf animated film did the frozen nordic landscape really well, I loved the snow effects in that movie. I also stood atop my Frostcrag Spire in Oblivion looking off at Skyrim in the distance waiting to get there.

What were your impressions based on the pre-release trailer?
I loved it, I was really surprised that this elder scrolls was taking place in Skyrim, thats been my favorite land since the very first game "Arena" and its the landscape I was excited most to explore in current gen graphics.

What was your first impression upon playing?
I absolutely loved it, I melted away in my seat and got really immersed, the music also caught me off guard, I wasn't expect it to be so wonderful, it made the snowy landscape really come to life to me, both visually and with sound. I'm also really impressed with the minor details, I especially have to take note of the rocky mountains in this game, some of the best terrain I've ever seen in a game, they really went above and beyond using more then just height maps but a lot of sharp rocks on the side of mountain faces as well. Also I loved the snow blowing over the hill tops and roofs, details like that you rarely see in other games.

What do you think of the game now?
I'm a little disappointed how buggy the game is turning out, sure previous games had their bugs too but I never saw them so game breaking, I never had missing objects in my Oblivion homes or couldn't complete the main quest in Morrowind without reloading saves. Skyrim is without a doubt the buggiest game Bethesda has ever released and that makes me a little bit sad, I'm sorry I'm a huge fan of the series but thats just how I feel, I'm also really frustrated on Bethesda's priority with their patches, there are still a ton of really game breaking bugs in the game but their patches lately haven't really been fixing anything, they only seem to be laying down the framework for one dlc after another.

I still enjoy Skyrim though, general exploring and such and the fact that I still play it one year later must show that its still a really good game
