SkyUI Help - Bringing back the cross hairs

Post » Wed May 23, 2012 8:51 pm

I recently DLed the SkyUI off of skyrim nexus, and was wondering if I was able to re-enable some of the things that were disabled because of the SkyUI mod?

The things I would like are:
1. Cross-hairs back. (Hard to aim and can't tell if I'm sneaking)
2. Compass (really need that)
3. Health Bar (for obvious reasons)

I already tried to enable them through the regular menu, but they were already enabled from when I played (Disabled and re-enabled and still didn't help)

You may laugh at me for wanting these "unrealistic help" features, but I like the UI as long as I get some of the basic things I want back.

I got this mod mainly for the menus system and navigating through items.

Thanks for the help.

I don't think SkyUI modifies the HUD yet, are you that's not because of another mod?

All 3 of those things work fine for me XD

You might have to reinstall it... Uninstall(if you used a mod manager) then check you skyrim/data/interface folder. The only thing that should be there is... a single "Translate_ENGLISH" text file iirc. If theres other stuff in there, you must have some other mods changing the UI.

Well I initially thought it was this, I could be wrong.
Heres a list of the mods I'm using, maybe you guys could help me narrow it down:

Lore Friendly Armor
RWT - Realistic Water Textures High
Shadow Striping Fix
SkyUI
Flora Overhaul
Skyrim 2k textures
Acceration Layer
FXAA Tool
Enhanced Night Sky
Enhanced Distant Terrain
Enhanced Blood Textures
Skyrim official HD texture Pack

SkyUI doesn't disable HUD. Are you sure it isn't caused by any changes you made in the Skyrim.ini?

How would I know or determine if any changes were made?

Open up "SkyrimPrefs.ini" and press Ctrl+F and search for "Compass". Copy and paste the line here. You should also be able to turn on crosshairs while in-game through the settings.

[Interface]
bDialogueSubtitles=0
bGeneralSubtitles=0
bShowCompass=1

This is what I got.
And in the game, both were already set to be on but they aren't when I play. I tried unchecking and then checking them again and still didn't work.

Thanks for helping me :)

I think you can disable Acceleration layer, It's not needed and likely not supported with the 1.4 patch.

I haven't tried Lore Friendly Armor, but I've used all of the other mods listed without the issues you're seeing.

Have you tried removing SkyUI? If you haven't, do that and see if it fixes the issue.

I tried the FXAA, Acceleration Layer, and the SkyUI being disabled and still didn't work. I also made sure to enable and disable to check in the game menu.

LMFAO. I just realized I had the HUD Opacity all the way down low.
Sorry guys for the trouble, all fixed now.
Dumb mistake by me :(

Thanks for the help, it at least helped me triple check all my settings.
