hello.

i've searched both online and in game and cannot find a definitive place where the slave scarf will always appear.

i've read that it appears in the nipton town hall as well as cottonwood cove. i've visited both places during different playthroughs and the slaves/prospectors are not wearing them. i know the game spawns cloths/armor randomly on npcs, as i've noticed this during different playthroughs as well.

my question: is there a location that is guaranteed to have a slave scarf on a dead body for me to loot?

Slaves obviously, and I can't recall the name, but there's one on a dead body in a nightstalker cave in the region between Primm and NoVac.

I managed to buy one in Goodsprings.
But on 2 seperate occasions each one a different save file there was one in Prospecters cave on a dead prospecter but the good thing is you only need to find one and you can repair it with pre-war hats

you get on temp from the mission (still in the dark) but i dont think you get to keep it.

Nah he means a slave scarf its a pretty cool piece of headwear its like a wrap that goes over the players head and round his neck like a sith/jedi hood.

yeah, i know they are on slaves. the luck i've been having they've only been on alive slaves, not dead ones. so if i kill them, the legion attacks. ideally i am looking for a dead slave/prospector that will be at his/her location with the scarf every time i play, no matter what save file. i've never seen it for sale in goodsprings. there has to be a place where it's always available.

I found one in Cottonwood, I didn't keep it though.

cottonwood cove, in the building, downstairs near the radio. upstairs has some goodies in too, so always best to check them both

If you "steal"- plant some armour helmet on slave, he should change it in which case you can steal your wrap from him. You however need to exit - reenter area for NPC to change clothing. Mostly entering/exiting some building works.

I am pretty sure there is one on prospector body in Sealed Sewers under New Vegas . Some good loot too.

i just wanted to close the loop on this topic. last night i ventured over to prospector's den (just north of primm and southwest of the emergency railroad station). in addition to finding a slave scarf, there were some great items for those of you who are just starting out your playthrough (seeing how it's so close to goodsprings/primm). items such as metal/leather armor, cowboy repeater and other stuff you can use or sell. for those of you searching for the slave scarf (like me), prospector's den is the perfect location. my advice though is to save your game before getting near the den. this way if for some reason that item doesn't appear on one of the corpses, then you can just simply load your previous save file and enter the location again. i have found that every time i've done this there are different outfits/items that appear on the various corpses laying about. i was able to loot the scarf and some authority glasses without having to kill/steal from a slave or NCR ranger.

That's the only place i've found one so far too, it is random though.

Generic prospectors have a chance of spawning with one.
