[Mod request] Sleep, save and quit

Post » Thu May 24, 2012 7:52 pm

Hi

I would like a mod that lets me quit the game while I sleep. Or to be precise, while my Skyrim character sleeps.

At the moment, when I (in real life) want to go to bed at 3.00am or so after a Skyrim session, I like to take my Nord warrior to a house or an inn and put him to bed, so I can go to bed to.

But I activate the bed, I tell the game I want to sleep for eight hours, the hours count down and there's my Nord wide awake and ready for action. So I can't leave him there, can I? Standing by his bed like a commode. I have to keep on playing. I never get to bed!

Can someone write a mod which qives me the option to quit the game while my Nord is sleeping.

Like so:

I activate the bed, a menu comes up:

How many hours? (As normal.)

Sleep and continue?

Sleep and quit?

If I select Sleep and continue, my guy wakes up after the countdown as usual.

If I select Sleep and quit, the game saves and quits (or goes to the main menu screen or whatever so I can quit out.

Next time I play, I load my save file and my guy wakes up and we carry on saving Skyrim from Barney the dinosaur.

Well, is this even possible?

There's an Oblivion mod called See You Sleep which sort of does this AND has a 'lie on the bed' animation. Any chance of doing that too?

I look forward to your replies - I'm going to bed now. (Skyrim crashed on me!)

I like this idea. Even if it just lets you watch your char get onto the bed, then fades to black after say, 5-10 seconds, that'd give you time to save, and when you restart, they wake up.
But the original idea is better, if it's doable.

Thanks evilgiraffe. I hoped someone else would like the idea.

Seems we're the only ones though. Perhaps someone going for a realism/immersion overhaul could put this in as a feature?
