Sleeping does not restore health

Post » Sun Sep 28, 2008 8:05 am

I'm playing on Hard with hardcoe mode turned on. In the manual it states that sleeping restores health. Am I missing something here, because sleeping does not restore my health.

I think that's just for Casual Mode.

Given you're playing using 'hardcoe' mode, which means sleeping does not restore lost health or limb condition. With hardcoe mode off sleeping does or at least should restore health and limb condition.

Sleeping doesn't restore health in hardcoe mode, only in Casual mode.

Also, stimpacks don't fix crippled limbs in hardcoe- you have to use a Doctor's Bag or Hydra, or visit a doctor.

To restore HP, and limb CND, in hardcoe mode via sleeping in a bed it must be owned by the player identified as "My bed". Safe house beds, your Novac room, beds in the lucky 38 and such ilk are good examples.

I think you have to sleep for long enough to be "Well Rested". Either that, or it has to be a player-owned bed.

The Wiki is hardly authoritative on this subject. giving it only one mention as a Note on the hardcoe page. It states that owned beds (including sleeping with certain NPCs) will restore the player completely as well as give the Well Rested Perk.

Kor'Ah seems to confirm this.

I can confirm it also ...owned beds, like one in Novac hotel room restore limbs and health in hardcoe. I am even using mod which removes it.

I too can confirm that in HC mode sleeping in an owned bed or safehouse bed will restore you fully. I've only played in HC since getting the game in October.

The only thing sleeping does in hardcoe Mode is it makes you well rested which removes the effects of sleep deprivation.

Thanks for the heads up, guys. ;) I'm not at the point where I own much of anything, yet.

Well Rested is a 10% XP bonus from sleeping in a bed you own (or safehouse bed).

Sleeping anywhere will lower the sleep meter to remove sleep deprivation.
