I don't think its necessary to shill out the extra money for a game to have characters speaking in a correct langauge for artsy fartsy value when primarily the majority of the audience will end up not seeing half of whats going on because they are reading the subtitles.
It's not for "artsy fartsy" value. It's for "immersive" value. Plus, it makes the product stand out, and gives you a reason to replay the game. If you miss some of the story the first time around, you naturally want to replay the game to find out what it is that happens. Unless the game is really bad, obviously.
So, not a lot of shonen/revenge movie/80s action flick/martial arts fans on these forums, huh? Disappointing.
