Slen Tiid Vo (Flesh Time Undo)

Post » Tue May 22, 2012 12:54 am

While posting on a topic about the Thu'um, i got the idea for a mod that implements "Slen Tiid Vo" (Flesh Time Undo) as an actual Dragon Shout that the player can learn, upon the death of Alduin. What this shout does, is it acts like a Reanimate spell in a cone shape, similar to Unrelenting Force's shape. The first word of the Shout will reanimate weak dead creatures. The second word of the Shout will reanimate moderately powerful dead creatures. The third word of the Shout will reanimate ANY dead creature, but requires the use of a Dragon Soul to reanimate Grand Soul level creatures, thus giving a use to Dragon Souls once you've already maxxed out all the other Dragon Shouts. Reanimated creatures will last between 180-300 seconds before they collapse into a pile of ash.
I personally don't have the time to create the mod right now, but am wondering if anyone else wants to pick this up and make it?

I don't think they should turn to an ash pile after death as that shout is more of a true resurrection, restoring them to life as if they never died. If I could give a suggestion, I'd say making all three levels of the shout require a dragon soul when the body resurrects (so you don't lose anything if you accidentally shout it, or if you don't use a powerful enough shout for the thing you're trying to resurrect).

I look forward to resurrecting a dragon and have it follow me around, attacking enemies.

The problem with that though, is that a Dragon Shout that doesn't require any skill/perk investment would then replace "Dead Thrall" basically. Maybe have them drop dead again after the duration without having them turn to ash, so you can then spend another Dragon Soul to reanimate them again, if your particularly fond of that NPC/creature.

If it works like the version Alduin uses, you'd need some way to balance it out, like giving it a colossal cooldown time, or making the corresponding Word Walls really hard to get at, or both.

You'd learn the Shout when you kill Alduin, and yeah, it'd have a large CD, similar to Storm Call's.

Would it resurrect dragons? It should. And I would use it if it did. That'd be awesome.

I'd also like to be able to unlock the meteor storm shout that Alduin uses. Even if it IS ineffective, it's badass.

You haven't added it through console? I'm.....not liking the word walls to much, I've aspirations for them to be....playable past events instead of something you look at and get powers from...rather you get the abilities from partaking in the event ala some time in the MQ does. drawing the actual power would be a shout in of itself you know like the promo e3 thing where the player used a scroll and a custom DOVAKIIN sound played, this is so you don't absorbe every dragon you kill, and not all of them will cough up a soul....

my musings anyway...
