Slow Time Shout Should NOT slow the player only NPC's

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 7:40 pm

Is it intentional for the Dragon Shout Slow Time to slow the player as well as the NPC's? This just seems broken to me.

What say you community? Should the Slow Time shout slow the player down or not?

I say NOT.

So you're telling Bethesda how their shouts should work? Interesting.

You're also insinuating that an already OP shout should be more OP? Also interesting.

Stupid, but interesting.

Master Chief - why do you think it's stupid ?
It's obviously a glitch which needs fixing.

Why would I want to slow time down when I cannot move fast enough to make it worthwhile ?
This is stupid. And interesting find as well by Stryker.

I am telling Beth how the Shouts should work when they are broken.

LOL.
It's not a bug, it's working as intended. It is purely strategical. It gives awareness and lets you gain bearing and "slows time" so you have more time to think of..strategy? Herp?

Surely when slowing down time you slow down the entirety of everything? It's not broke, it's just Bethesda's interpretation of such power. Which would be more realistic then everything in slow motion and you running around like a headless chicken. Just my opinion.

Actually I was asking the devs,

Are the mechanics of the Slow Time Shout intentionally slowing the player down or is this a bug?

The shout isn't OP in its current state, its kinda worthless filler. What's the point in using it if there's no benefit to the player. And when the shout also slows me down there's absolutely NO beneficial effect in using it ever.

And then I was asking the community what they thought.

Thanks for you input bro! Now scurry back under your bridge.

It gives you additional time to aim your spells/shots, assess a situation and take evasive action/use an opening in the enemies defence.

Unless you are some kind of machine, human reaction times isn't instantaneous, slowing time down allows you to react "faster" to the situation. Granted I am a uge fan of time manipulation magic though so the idea of slowing the world down (Or even stopping it!) independant of you is far more awesome.

It gives you better reaction time, there is still an advantage to slowing down everything including yourself.

The archery perks work the same way, and they've been really helpful with aiming.

Slowing down time allows me to hit spells on dragons flying around me 9/10 times, it really does help if it's used correctly
