Smithing issue

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 2:07 pm

So i have my 100 in smithing skill and went up the left side of the skill tree do to it being the light armor side Just got dragon armor in smithing. But the bow i need to craft is under the Daedric smithing which are the strongest bows. BUT YOU CAN NOT GO FROM DRAGON TO DAEDRIC. Which i find completely stupid i have a hundred in smithing all the perks from the side of the tree and the dragon armor perk. But you can not go back down from the other side to get the daedric smithing. Instead need to go from steel all the way up to the top of the tree again. It was a waste of perks for me.

[censored] really? That was going to be my next perk... This game is so great yet so [censored] it's insane. I dunno if that's a bug or if they intended for it to be that way, but to be completely honest since they did do it this way. Light armor is kind of gimped. If you take most the heavy armor perks (you should really get them all, after looking at them they're quite nice) you move just as fast an unhindered as with light armor, and if you play a stealthy character there is always the muffle perk in the stealth tree or enchants. So after it's all said and done, heavy armor beats the crap out of light armor in the long run and there are no real benefits to light armor. None that I can see at least, I'm wearing heavy armor for all my characters from now on. It also looks cooler, this dragonscale armor I just crafted looks kinda lame. Oh well.

I think this is working as intended. You cannot go backwards in any tree that I have noticed... which is pretty much all except Mage trees.

If this is intended then I am really sad because it really makes light armor smithing a waste.

Pretty much, I just restarted a new character because it was depressing. Light armor is crap, there is no reason to wear it.
