Smithing leveling too fast

Title says it. All hail the Mighty Iron Dagger.

Why does a pair of Glass Boots give the exact same experience an Iron Dagger does towards Smithing ? From a pure player standpoint, it's really disheartening to gather materials and, in the end, realize an Iron Dagger should, lo and behold, be glorified as the apotheosis of metalcraft when it comes to learning.

Alchemy and Enchanting feel much more..."balanced" in those regards, I find. Then again maybe I'm just not seeing something right.

PS : I know I could simply STOP crafting Iron Daggers, but the same goes for every other piece of equipment. It's too much experience, too fast.

Spot on. I'm not complaining, because it allows me to power-train a skill I would otherwise be unable to train with any patience, but you're right. A glass curiass and an iron dagger are hardly of the same difficulty to create.

I came here expecting another "it broke my game" and was ready to say "then don't use it" but you actually have a point in that it is a flaw with the crafting system. There should come a time when Iron daggers just simply doesn't give as much points as say glass.
