Sneak compromised in 1.03?

After downloading the new patch, I got tired of looking at the frozen Alikir Soldiers at the entrance of Whiterun. So I went ahead and snuck in a dark corner and took them both out with out anyone noticing. As soon as I popped out the whole town started chasing me. I tried several times and I just can't get rid of them without killing the rest of the town. Even if I run away and come back later the guards remember me and will attack me on sight. The only way I could take care of them is by transforming into a werewolf, kill them off then run away.

My friend is having trouble with a few DB quests. Same thing, getting 100% one shot stealth kills, yet whole town chases him down when hes pops out of sneak.

There has got to be other people experiencing this.

Been exclusively playing my assassin since 1.3 and notice no issues with Sneak.

You mention the guys you're killing are frozen. Do you mean they are bugged? If that is the case I bet it's why you can't kill then secretly. I wouldn't expect normal reactions from am already bugged situation.

Did this actually work in earlier patches? You didn't mention that it did, but you still suspect it should have?

I don't think that has anything to do with patch 1.3 because I pretty much the exact same issue a couple weeks ago. I was in Whiterun, and I had been killing guards (sneakily of course) to recharge black soul gems. Well, at one point, I killed a guard, and the same exact thing happened that you explained. I couldn't evade the guards, or any of the townsfolk. I couldn't escape the city, I couldn't do anything. They attacked me no matter what. Finally I decided to stash my stolen goods and gold elsewhere in Skyrim, then came back and let them haul me off to the dungeons.

I don't know what's more ironic, expecting to get away with murder in broad daylight because in Skyrim you normally can, or the fact that this behavior (I'd consider it a bug) more accurately represents how guards should behave if they've seen a murder or a dead body.

Yeah didn't mention that I killed them during 1.2 and had no problems at all. I ended up reloading a save though and not bothering with them until 1. 3. This time around was nothing like I experienced when I first killed them, and at first I thought maybe they just modified sneak to make it harder which would be cool. But no, I'm straight up hidden and taking these guys out stealthily. Previously that would end with no harassment from guards and the like. Not so much now. And like I said my friend is having problems with his assassination quests. Same thing with being chased out of town by townsfolk no matter what. And also he will stealth into someones house and the owners warn him to leave, even though he is completely hidden (cursor eye completely closed)
they keep warning him until a bounty gets put up (5 or 25 gold) then they stop talking.

Never seen anything like this before 1.3

I'm pretty sure everyone has the same issue with them appearing at the Whiterun gate after the quest is over. I took them out with arrows from behind War-Maidens. 1st went down with one shot. The 2nd came after my follower and was killed. The rest of the town didn't seem to care at all. But this was about a week ago. So it was before the patch.

Same thing, but my warriors are not frozen. No one sees me, red dots even go away after I shoot/kill one with my bow. But as soon as the second one sees me after I shot the first, him and guards start chasing me. If I shoot the second one my bounty goes away, but then when I walk past any guard they.become hostile and I cant yield, or claim thain. I may try to were later on and get rid of them that way. I also have a courier stuck same place in whiterun. He delivered the museum paper to me, and now wont leave.

I posted in a buried sneak topic, but I'll recap here because it was sort of weird -

On my first session after patch 1.3 it seemed like sneak was broken. I was hidden, in the shadows, in the dark, BEHIND dudes and I'd get close to them and they'd just sense me there and start looking. Even then I was still able to sneak kill a couple of dudes by moving quickly... and because I'm a cold-blooded killah. I played for about 2-3 hours before lag/frame-rate made me stop. I saved, waited a day.

On my second session, starting up from a saved 1.3 patched game, sneak was back to working like it had. I could walk right in front of people and slit their throats without a worry. I cleared at least four bandit/forsworn castles/dungeons without getting caught once. Did the "Lights Out" quest from Solitude and slaughtered all of the pirates/gang in very easy/quick fashion.

Not sure if something happened between playing a 1.2 save with the 1.3 patch freshly installed vs. playing a 1.3 patched save, but my sneak seems to be working again.

Had my own issues with this.

I've been playing this particular character long enough to reach level 17, complete the thieves guild, and have two special missions done for the guild. Never had one issue with sneak.
Then I take a bedlam job in Markarth. I head to the Blood and Silver Inn and manage to pickpocket a 800 septim gold ring. To my surprise though it doesn't give me a confirmation message saying I'd completed the bedlam mission. My first thought was Delvin saying you can;t be seen or else it doesn't count. Upon remembering this, I realized that under the closed eye icon, the "hidden" text was no longer there, ever. No matter what I did, I could not get the hidden to pop back up, besides very rare instances where it comes up for a second, then vanishes again.

Well I decided to give that character a rest, hoping a re-boot would fix whatever the issue was, and started an archer character about 3 hours later.
To my shock, the issue has persisted. Not only that, it now seems worse, as I can be sneaking behind someone and the sneak icon will rapidly flash from "closed" to "detected" to "hidden" then back to "closed". I can still get sneak attack bonuses thank goodness, but sneak does seem to definitely be bugged in some minor way for me.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I had the same type of trouble killing those warriors back when I was on 1.1 or 1.2. I'd kill one and the whole town would be out for blood. If I stayed hidden I could calm them down until they saw me again. My solution was to slink far enough away that I could fast travel. When I got back to town later nobody was after me and I was able to drag the corpses away.
