Snow looking too bright?

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 9:06 am

So I'm running into an odd issue where in the daylight, the snow seems very bright and is washed out. I'm using the ENB series 0.106, as well as a mod called Realistic Lighting. Just to test it out, I removed the ENB series graphic mod and it seems the issue went away. Even in caves and indoors it seemed more realistic with the darker environments. I like a lot of what the ENB series mod does, but is there any way to tone down the brightness of the snow in outdoor areas through the .ini files?

I know their is an improved snow mod that is pretty popular on Nexus just check the top 100 it's in there. Also are you using an Nvidia card with AO on and set to performance? If so try toggling that off and see if you get a change. I read it adds a shine to stuff.

I'm using the Better Dynamic Snow mod. Which I hear is the best one out there. I have a GTX 560 Ti and am using High Quality AO. I might change it from HQ to just quality to see if that makes a change.

Worth a shot might just be a bi product of AO enabled and the mod. I would test it for you but my ATI card that cost me an arm and a leg has no SSAO support for Skyrim :(
