Sofie the flower seller girl.Glitch.

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 8:41 pm

Unable to give her gifts as her 'give Sofie a new dolly / sweets / dress / wooden sword / dagger' menu is greyed out and it's telling me she's over encumbered. I've not given her anything at all and my house is fully furnished.Any way to fix this glitch?

One of my characters adopted Sofie and never had the problem, so some unique glitch must be affecting Sandpanther's game. Did you try exiting the menu and asking her what she wants? Either that or just reload the game and see if it vanishes.

Tried exiting the menu and reloading earlier saves (earliest one I had was right after adopting her). No luck, poor Sofie won't be getting any gifts. /Head desk. Now Lucia won't leave Whiterun because she evidently needs to say goodbye to the entire population of Skyrim and their pets.

Went to my house in the Pale and she wasn't there.Went dungeon delving for 2 weeks without visiting Whiterun or my house....I came home and Lucia still wasn't there.Rechecked Whiterun and she was still sitting by the Gildergreen telling me she had to pack her things and say goodbye to everyone.I'm only getting these bugs on my new character, my original character with 500+ hrs on her adopted the same two children and they acted fine.

You have perhaps missed something essential in the house then and she cannot move, you need 2 children's beds and 2 child's chests for the bedroom wing, or 2 single beds and a dresser between for the main hall bedroom. How did you manage to adopt one? Must be a glitch, Sofie is over encumbered because she has no where to put her stuff?

Pale house is fully furnished with bedroom, trophy room and kitchen wings installed. The only thing missing on my second character's Pale house (the character suffering the bugged kids) is a chicken.Interior workbenches all removed after triple checking any missing items.House is identical to my bug free original character's home.I even tried moving my second characters kids to different holds (all homes equipped with children's room) and Lucia still refuses to move from the Gildergreen and Sofie continues to complain that I'm teasing her because I can't give her gifts.

I would give up and start home building again then. Do you have a save for that character before you started Hearthfire, or before you started the first house?

i agree that's why Bethesda says: "Save before you start building up"
or if you have a save BEFORE you start adopting then great

BWAHAHHAHA! I had that same problem. I went back and forth for like 3-4 in-game days and she still kept saying that "I need to get my things together and say goodbye to everyone...thanks! thanks so much..." crap--as if a preteen girl and, OH YEAH, A DESPERATELY POOR HOMELESS BEGGAR is going to have a ton of friends in a medieval style town...

Sofie does something similar to that, along with about 50,000 other glitchy things related to her finding your house or something, and it's so friggin' irritating and so much work to adopt her that I just swore it off. Even after I had a game with her as one of my kids that was pretty well along, I just went back and restarted from before I adopted her purely out of spite or something.

When you buy her flowers, buy her entire inventory. For some reason, she's carrying like 54 flower baskets that each have a weight of 2.

And if you buy all of them, more magically appear. Then they keep on appearing. Talk to her later, and it's the same "nobody bought any flowers today...again...for the 192nd day in a row...(sigh)..."

Once I bought all of the baskets and then dropped each of them, thinking that it would look like I was an irate customer or something. It did, for like a second. Then it just looked like a cringe-inducing guilt machine (meaning Sofie) totally confused as to why she was surrounded by baskets.

If you do it and immediately adopt her during the same conversation it should work.
