Sofie The little Girl of Windhelm.

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 3:47 am

Well I just thought this was plain Sad so I'll tell you in Story First Person from My Argonian Thief,

I was on a Normal Bedlam run for Delvin Mallory. I was entering from the Docks to say a friendly Hello to Shahvee. And when I was coming up on the Doors to Windhelm, And before I got to the Door a Small Child came out she was no older then 11. Her name was Sofie, She had a Flower basket asking for people to buy them. So I bought them, And after buying them I asked her where her parents were. She said her mother died when she was young and her father, she said he went to war and never came back. I knew what happened, And sadly I think she did too. So she just picked flowers and sold them just to get her next meal. I wanted to adopt her. And raise her like she was my own. But I had no house for her to live in. I would never let a child follow me, It was too dangerous. So to this day I promise to buy a House and adopt her. I just hope I'm not too late to return to her.

Ok i hoped you liked that. And this post was about finding children. Who have you guys found? I now feel bad for them.

It's kinda funny how something that simple can tug at your heart strings.

I say a similar child in whiterun. She was begging for money. Then I vowed to get the perfect house for her. She is now with me out of harms way, and has a brother I found in the orphanage who also wanted the love of a family.

That was nice to read, yeah i felt guilty when i could not adopt her too. Bought her flowers everyday until i could get my abode built up, so i knew she was not starving. Still, she may have been cold.. then again, she is a Nord.. so my guilt was slightly unburdened,

There's so many kids with sad stories...

Samuel: Lost his mom when he was born, never had a family.
Francis: Left at the orphanage by his parents (I wish you could find them... even if they were dead, he'd get some closure)
Lucia: Kicked out on the street by her relatives (I wish you could pay them a visit, beat the crap out of them. Talk about people who deserve it)
Sofie: Lost her parents and has to sell flowers in the street. War... war never changes. And it svcks.
Runa: Don't know how she lost her folks. But she begs you to adopt her no matter who you are.

Plus I think there's one in Solitude who has to sleep in a stable, and another who scrounges for a living up in Dawnstar (where it looks to be about 50 below).

Hard to pick just two, isn't it?

Kids like that have lots of anger.

When I get the DLC, I'm going to adopt her and train her into the deadliest assassin in Skyrim (Hanna-esque :D)

Same thing happened to me with the little guy up in Dawnstar. Only had my mansion half done so had to hurry to finish so he wouldn't freeze. He actually remembered that I had been there before. Awesome DLC!

Actually I just saw her today since I own a house in Windhelm and I saw her with her little basket of flowers. Her story is pretty sad so I finished the bedroom and adopted her. I thought her character although small was well done!

i agree the writers who created the background history for the children did an awesome job.

Each one for me just pulls the heart strings even tho its just pixels.

Kinda like Biowares stories in Mass Effect does to pull you right into the world by interacting with just one npc.

I wish there was an option to instead of building a mansion house for my char to just build three big orphanages or upgrade the one in rifton for all of those homeless children in game.

its just pixels and my dovakin never sleeps anyway.

the story of the little girl from whiterun was the first npc that my char met and it was sad.

i had no plan on adopting until i had a similar situation with lucia of whiterun, she was begging and saying how she was so hungry so i gave her a gold piece and then she said she has nowhere to go and doesn't know what to do, then asked if i could adopt her. my dovakiin is a brutal warrior who's spilled the blood of thousands in his life and still slept peacefully but things like this soften his hard heart...now lucia is happily living in lakeview manor with me and mjoll, enjoying her new dress and doll in a nice warm home with plenty of food on the table

OP if you don't have the money/material to build the new homes yet you can convert the alchemy room in breezehome to a childrens room and move her into there ;)

heh get your children a dog
drives your stewart crazy

i picked two different children
on two different characters
the little girl in winterhelm is nord
and the boy in solitude working at the stable is an imperial
same story both lost their parents to war. just opposite sides

then i picked the girl in whiterun
and the boy who works the mine in dawnstar
again one is an imperial the other a nord

they need to give us a castle and we could adopt more kids lol

in fable you could adopt a child for every bedroom you owned
so i think i had something like 19 kids

I felt really bad, because I already had two kids. If it were up to me, I'd adopt them all! I have the gold for it, but not the house space to accommodate them.

Like I said, hard to pick just two.

Aventus's unadoptability is perplexing. His story is just as sad as the other kids. My theory is that the Hearthfire team just forgot, since it makes NO sense that they would choose to leave him rotting in his home. And the developers might be fallible, but they're not dumb.

It might have been a simple glitch. If so, an Aventus patch may be in the works as we speak.

I felt guilty that I didnt pick sophie. I adopted Runa and Hroar before I even knew about her. And Lucia too. Their stories were definitely the most depressing.

I wish we had the possibility to take the children to the Honorhall Orphanage instead of just leaving the kids :/
