Solution for "Archive Process Failed" error:

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 7:10 am

I finally found a solution on another forum that a user there had posted, and I know many other users were having the same problem.

If you are trying to upload your mod to Steam and suddenly it does not bring up the mod description window, but the Manual File pack window with an Archive Process Failed error, please find the solution below:

"Open "Archive.exe" in your steamapps/common/skyrim folder. It was installed with your Creation Kit.
It's a more advanced .bsa packer. In this new window select Edit > Add File, and grab your .esp. Click File > Save. Make sure the .bsa file you save in Archive.exe is spelled EXACTLY the same as your .esp

Then when you go to upload your mod, it will find the already made .bsa file

Next time i started up creation kit, it said "Mod.bsa already found, use it?", I assume that's why the name needs to be the same. Hope that helps."

I then tried to upload to steam, and got the correct window. YAY!
