Solution for crashing while zoning?

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 11:55 pm

The new drivers fixed most of the severe performance issues. While some texture popin still exists, and some weird character model frame shifting, but its manageable.

What isn't manageable is that 90% of the time I zone into somewhere, the game crashes. When it crashes, I can launch it back, but it has a weird problem where the framerate won't stay consistently at 60FPS (it'll make very noticable dips every 15 sec or so) so I have to keep restarting my computer.

Going to try 1 more time to do the Mutant Bash TV part without it crashing. If it crashes, Im done with this game until some serious patching is done. I saw another thread where you need to not advance the main quest in wellspring or something, but no way Im going all the way back there unless it ends up absolutely necessary. Way to make us your freaking guinea pigs iD/bethesda. I appreciate it. My hype for DOOM 4 is quite literally gone now.

I'm more intrigued than ever to see what this engine is capable of when it is functioning as intended...

The new drivers fixed what seems like most of the graphics issues for me as well, but they still appear to be lacking. I don't know all the technical terms for what I'm seeing. What do know is I won't be buying a new game from id/Bethesda. What a half-assed release! I charge money to beta test through a legitimate business, I'll be damned if I'm going to pay $60 bucks for the contract and eat the troubleshooting and bug reporting hours. iD/Bethesda, do you need a professional consultant to tell you this is unacceptable? Games, like other products need to work when they're released. It's unfair to use the the M$ development model on the gaming consumers that support you. We also work hard for our money and deserve a finished product on release date, not in the first patch.

The game keeps crashing when I'm trying to re-enter the first building, helping that guy for the second time. It sits at the loading screen, but if I ctl-alt-del out to task manager I see the crash window. I'm goin back to TF2, from what I've seen of Rage it's more fun anyway.

well that is my third time beating mutant bash TV, the third time it has crashed on the loading screen immediantly after it (saves aren't possible during the MBT event and there is no chance to save before the load screen.)

I am done with this game for now. Hopefully id learns its lesson, because I can guarentee I will never even consider buying DOOM 4 on launch day, and am beginning to think it is a better idea to just skip it altogether. Do they even test their games?

I guess its back to Gears 3 until skyrim. No complains there though. Gears is infinitely more polished than RAGE could ever hope to be apparently.

I'm stuck on Mutant Bash TV because it crashes every time I try to end it.

I also crash after almost every race.
