So I put my computer to sleep all the time... well two days ago I put it to sleep and went to the store.

Now I can't log on (to windows 7) because the log in screen is black and unresponsive. I can move the cursor, but that's all. If I let it sit for a long time, the screen saver comes on. Then it goes back to the black screen when I move my mouse.

Is there any way I can get back into windows? I tried spamming F8 during start up but can't seem to bring up safe mode... probably because this win 7 64 bit is stupid.

Might be worth trying some of the alternate keys for safe mode. Try holding down F2 or Del and try holding down F8 as well until the safe mode dialog comes up.
