[Guild Recruitment] Some Kind of Monster

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 7:15 pm

Some Kind of Monster are now preparing for the move into Tamriel, where we intend to focus on PvE and PvP equally aswell as other activites. Untill the release of The Elder Scrolls Online we will be playing a lot of other games such as Diablo 3 and many other games.

About Some Kind of Monster:

Some Kind of Monster is a European guild with roots which date back to the release of World of Warcraft, and even before that Runescape. through time it’s been within numerous MMOS, including WoW, LOTRO, Aion, Guild Wars, Planetside, FFXIV, Warhammer and the latest MMO being Star Wars: The Old Republic. We have always been a small guild with a strong close knit community. Over the years players gradually left due to personal issues but we have always remained in contact, however we now need to seek like-minded individuals to help us reform Some Kind of Monster. I am pleased to say that the original creators will be present in The Elder Scrolls Online. We will be using a Mumble server regularly, although a mic is not essential.

Why Choose Some Kind of Monster?

Some Kind of Monster was founded by two friends from the UK back in 2006, We are looking for mature (18+), social, light hearted players. Loyalty plays a big part in our guild, we will be loyal in helping you and your characters progress but we expect the same loyalty towards the guild in return.

Some Kind of Monster has always been a very competitive guild. Aiming to do the best in whatever goals we set. As stated before our main focus will be Raiding and PvP where we aim to have fun whilst still making good progress within the game. We believe that a small group of close knit loyal members is the best kind of guild. We hope you agree!

If you have the same goals and mind-set for The Elder Scrolls Online as us, and think you will make a valuable member of the guild then please head to our ever growing website, where you will find instructions on how to apply and enjoy our community. We look forward to hearing from you!

If this game stayed true to the ES single player series allowing the same freedom, then I'd actually play on an RP server for the first time in my life because this [censored] is whack for this games setting.

Why are guilds a negative aspect of MMORPGs? I've always felt clans and guilds to be a positive feature of any multiplayer game. They allow you to meet new people, and keep in contact with others you've played with in the past. They're also an easy way of joining together with other people with a similar play style and interests to you. Enjoy hardcoe PvP? Join a organized guild, with a Vent server and good organization. Like role playing? Join a guild where everyone talks in character, but just does more casual PvP and questing. But if you're really not interested, just ignore them, the same way to can ignore any people in online games.

I'm so happy there will be roleplaying guilds that don't give a flying horker about success.
Well, except making MK the emperor.

what im talking about is the lame guild recruitment spamming in allchat. and also i found guilds ofthen more annoying than everything else. beeing all honest the most fun group play i had in a while was palying with a random group of people in GW 2 beta. that was fun. Guild in WoW? CHORE do that do that help that guy craft that [censored] do that dungeon, why are you still so low level how are you going to assist us in X raid? Honestly i find any competetive guild highly annoying. That beeing said i enjoy all kinds of competetive PvP.

Probably its to me playing on german servers and if i can tell you one thing about MMORPG Communities than its that the German one is ALWAYS the most flawed beeing stuck in useless forms of "manner", beeing hostile to anything that could be trolling, and with that i mean starting a discussion, not to mention saying anything in the game isnt right.
Half of this Forum would be banned in a German community. For Instance "Roleplaying" a Dunmer and say something along the lines of making new boots out of a fellow Argonian. Its fun, it gets annoying with time but its fun. In a German community this thing is treated like some kind of real threat, you cant do that, they will openly attack you for it. Also enjoying yourself, hanging around the World and doing stuff that doesnt contribute leveling or the guild is frowned upon.
But yeah that was a bit off topic but realy i think most people that played in a German community once can agree with me that they can be very intolerant to having fun.

Because most players dont really want to play a mmo. They want a single player game with a chat feature and a possibility to show their epic stuff to adoring noobs. Thats why most mmos are designed they way they are now. There are a few exceptions especially among the older mmo's. The best example of a real mmo is eve online as its the other players that is providing the majority of the content. Most other mmos just try to adapt the format in order to make the game as close to a single player game as possible. Thats why most mmo's svck, and TES:O wont be any different.

Awesome! Good to see some diving fearlessly into the world of Tamriel! Good luck with your guild. Mine is set for the move also, but we only have a handful of members. We'll wait til we are on server and meet people in game to recruit others :)

well i wouldnt say it should be a single player games with other people around. bu the best online RPGs are the ones that realy make you feel like you are fighting against this big world with ALL the people around you. Not just a selected few that share a Tag around your name.

Guild Wars 2 is realy doing a great job at this. With everyone beeing able to rez and you getting full XP for monsters other groups are fighting. I remember for example in TERA beta i was helping out a group fighting a large monster, their response? "Go away already we dont want you" like wtf? i helped them. They thought i just wanted to steal their rarespawn. thats how not to do it. All the Players in one faction should play together. thats what makes a multiplayer RPG into a MASSIVELEY multiplayer RPG. At least in theory. (sadly thats not the case int he recent ones besides GW 2)

One of the problems about MMO games to me. It is a bit early to be hiring! The games out 2013. I'd love to see a group just about 'fun and lazing around'.

Me too, if I like the game enough to play it extensively, the only guild I'll be joining is an RP guild.

Simple. Spam Tam! RUGH! in general chat so that the other guilds are unable to communicate and all their planning falls apart.

@ Madmandan, you and other people building a guild should wait till the official forums open up. A mod has said that this is not the permanent home for TES:O. Zenimax will be opening up a separate forum on their site.

These type of post now will just clutter up these forums and as you can tell a bunch of people with nothing to contribute will reply.
