Some things you probably didn't know about blackreach...

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 3:52 am

  • If you look hard enough, you will find a small tunnel with a door that leads to silent city catacombs, a dwemer ruin within a dwemer ruin. RUINCEPTION .
  • There is a building in blackreach called sinderion's field laboratory, Sinderion was a scientist who studied nirnroot in The Elder Scrolls IV, Oblivion. his ruins can be found on the ground. Picking up his journal starts a quest.
  • Falmer armor can be looted by a chest guarded by falmer near the raldbathar market entrance,
  • Near the debate hall, where there are the falmer servants, use unrelenting force on the glowing orange ball and a dragon named Vulthoryl will appear. He is a strong dragon with allot of health, but not so much damage. He uses the Shout fire breath.
  • You can mine soul gems at geode veins( You may find grand and black soul gems around level 31)
  • There are 14 Corundum veins, 6 ebony veins, 34 geode veins, 3 gold veins, 2 moonstone veins, 3 orchalcum ore veins, 3 quicksilver veins, and 3 silver veins.
  • If you look closely, there is another dwemer ruin called silent ruins. There are no occupants, but a couple traps.
  • Only 23 of the geode veins are sure to give many soul gems. The other, may give soul gems, might not, and always give out corundum.
  • There are seven entrances.- Great lift at Alftand, Great lift at Mzinchaleft, Great lift at Raldbathar, Alftand, Mzinchaleft, And Raldbathar. Edit: And the tower of Mark
  • Opinion- There should be a quest just about blackreach.
Hope this helps

I'm pretty sure the only set of Falmer Armor is found in Muzlft (sp>). The same Dwemer ruins that Mjoll lost her sword in.

The entrance to the catacombs is found in a small river, While you just have to find the raldbathar market, there is a lift in the pumping station that brings you near the market, and there is a falmer tent there to the right of the market entrance. It is also near the raldbthar lift.

The Falmer armor in Blackreach is in a tent, near the entrance to Radbthar Market. The tent can trap a player because of the way the collision is, using tcl is an option to free yourself on a PC, a console player has to avoid getting too far into the tent. The Helm, Gauntlets, and Boots can be found as a complete set in Mzinchaleft.
The Dwemer Sphere outside of Sinderions Lab is one of the few Spheres that always has a ranged attack, FYI.

You can deal with that Sphere by using the lever near the multi-ballista opposite the Field Lab - this is as you enter Blackreach from Alftand.

Not at all. In fact, you can find

Spoiler
the quest giver, Septimus Signus, far north of the College. He will give you his quest (actually a quest that leads you to yet another daedra in the end) and which will give you the tools necessary to enter Blackreach. While there, you can also get the MQ-necessary Elder Scroll, and should you choose to keep it, still use it if you do the MQ later.

All Dwemer Spheres has a Ranged attack but they rarely use it. Best way to get one to use their range attack is to climb up somewhere they wont go or get into the water. I think Dwemer Spheres are programed to get as close as possible to target and use melee and if this isn't possible then they'll use range.

Also, Tower of Mzark

This. ^

In the room with the fountains up some stairs (Expert or Master locked gate) - Wikia has better directions.

As I understand there's only the body piece in Blackreach and if you can get trapped in there (first I've heard of that so I'll avoid it if I ever come across it :o) you should avoid it and get it from Mzinchaleft. :P

  • That's six. Three lifts, and the three correlating dwemer ruins. :ermm:

Aww, I missed that, because I played around with the catapult (aka the multi-ballista) at the entrance of Alftand. It's the first dwemer catapult that I encountered which could actually shoot its arrows, and it shot it right at the dwemer sphere. 't Was cool to see 'though. ^^

That sounds so... ...brilliant.

On the topic, thanks for the tips! I've been to Blackreach five times and haven't thought of mining anything. Oh, my fail.

Since I'm not doing the questline associated with Raldbathar, I was really hoping I could explore those ruins going in the "back door" through Blackreach but I couldn't get in. If it's possible to get in, I'd really like to hear about it. So, no entry to Raldbathar without doing the associated questline. :tes:

Are you talking about the Main Quest or the Daedric Quest? Just saying, you can do the Daedric Quest and get to Blackreach without touching the Main Quest.

I don't know if we're thinking of the same place, but do you mean the dungeon in the DB quest Mourning Never Comes? I always thought you could get inside without getting the quest.

You can. The target is there too, I wonder what happens if you kill him before getting the quest...

Thanks for the correction on Raldbathar; I'll have to get back in there and see what happened in my game. I don't do DB or TG. Now I think it's Irkngthand I was unable to enter without the associated quest. Oops. :tes:

Muiri doesn't ask you to kill Nilsine. You just tell her the target's been taken out, she pays you, and you go on your way.

You can use telekinesis on the Falmer Armor in that one tent that is very glitchy. I just got it about 15 minutes ago so I know it is possible.
