Some Thoughts and Ideas

So I mentioned this in another post, and thought it good enough to headline a thread of its own
Just a little something to throw out there and get some feed back on.

I'm describing the following in the frame of a future possible DLC to expand Dawnguard, but realistically it can easily be an addition for TES:6

A little Background: As far as DLC goes in Obilivion, the Vile Lair was by far my favorite. I loved everything about it, but most of all I really liked the minion that came with. I enjoyed sending him out and having him return with a bunch of gold and some random items.

To this end, I'm proposing just such an add-on. Assassin's Creed: Revelations handled this very well. I could be well balanced for both the Dawnguard and Vampire side.
  • On the Vamp side I'd like to be able to sit at Harkon's desk and order a few vampires out on missions. I would like two or maybe three actual NPCs (vampire minions) hang around Volkihar Castle waiting for orders from me. These two or three would be local agents, sending them out to locations I've discovered on the map to just "kill" or I could send them out in my stead if I have one of those Radiant Quests pending (where I have to go kill or turn someone). On the desk would be a list of agents that work abroad, allowing me to send them out into various provinces to "complete X mission". All those that survive and return, do so with money and loot. Those who die will obviously need to be replaced, which I'll be able to send my minions out to do for me  .
  • On the Dawnguard side, basically the same thing. Two or three NPCs mill around the keep until you give them orders to go out and hunt vampires in "X-area". Likewise, there would be a list on a table you can sit down at. From there you can coordinate efforts to restock the inventory of the Keep, as well as sending them out into other provinces to establish pockets of the guard and to hunt vampires abroad. All those that survive will return with gold and loot for you, as well as restocking certain items either within the keep or held by the vendor NPCs.
Yes? No? Why? Why not? Change or Improve? Let me know what you think!
Keep it civil and keep in mind this is just a Brain Storming session  As i said, this can just as easily be geared for the next iteration of TES, or even adjusted to fit something like the Civil War. How cool would it be to have the ability to command forces like this, and have it matter. You could potentially take Solitude or Windhelm without ever lifting a sword...if you wanted. :)

Thanks!

Throwing out another thought:

Why can't we also get blessings from the Daedric Princes we choose, just like the divines?
-If it's because we get Daedric Artifacts, then why can't we get "Divine Artifacts" along with their blessings?

I rather liked the Famous Vs. Infamous values in Oblivion, and it would be neat to play off of those again, in relation to being worthy of one group of blessings (Aedric or Divine) over the other group of blessings (Daedric blessings or "boons")

I always thought sending a minion out and having him return with gold from Talos knows where was a bit weak. But the fame and infamy system was a cool attempt at a reputation system.

It just feels to me like you risk nothing. Sure, you might have who you order die, but you risk nothing. If you could send the troops and go fight alongside them as well, that'd be cool. I guess.

Dawnguard is brilliant. Beth outdid themselves and there's nothing left for them to do.

There's plenty left for them to do. Dawnguard is by no means a masterpiece.. It's riddled with too many bugs for it qualify for that kind of praise.

I beg to differ.

There are plenty of bugs that have plagued a good amount of people. Some get out of it without a single bug, others get bombarded with bugs and are rendered unable to play.

And, just to add... whether or not Jack himself has encountered these problems is beside the point. They exist. I understand players enthusiastically wishing to give high praise to a game they enjoy, but I won't subscribe to the wholesale canonization of Bethesda for releasing a flawed product. Is Dawnguard quite good? Sure. I can agree with that. Did Bethesda outdo themselves? No, they did precisely what they always do. They released something that at a cursory glance appears quite promising but begins to fall apart upon closer scrutiny. (Apologies to the OP for going off-topic).

The request reminds me of assassins creed brotherhood. I enjoyed the assassins I recruited and what they did.
