Long ago - end of first/beg of 2nd era, if I read the lore right - the Nords invaded skyrim AND morrowind. In Morrowind, they fought the chimer and dwemer, and lost; in skyrim, they fought the falmer/snow elves, dragons and dragon priests, and not only won, but in devastating fashion!

This doesn't add up for me - unless the Morrowind invasion was a minor effort in comparison to the skyrim effort.

Am I missing something? I never played Morrowind/TES 3.

Pretty sure the Nords took Morrowind at first, it wasnt until Nerevar came that the Nords got pushed out of Morrowind.

sooo.... Nords beat dragons.... ancestors of the dunmer beat nords...

conclusion... Dunmer are stronger than dragons!

Wait - the lore I read says that Nerevar punched out the Dwemer, but says nothing about him curbstomping the nords.

i was just reading http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:First_Era. pretty sure the dwemer conquered the nords in the fifth century.

Morrowind had AlmSiVi.

Its hard to win against living gods.

Nords conquer Skyrim from the Falmer in the Merethic Era.
Late Merethic Era comes the Dragon War.
First Era 416 Chimer drive Nords out of Veloth (now known as Morrowind)
The events take place over about 1500 years

Ysgramor and the companions took Skyrim. Ysgramor's descendants then created the First Empire of the Nords, which spanned High Rock, Skyrim, Morrowind and Northern Cyrodiil. King Borgas, a descendant of Ysgramor was do powerful he called for an invasion of Valenwood but in retaliation the Bosmer called the Great Hunt and killed him. This left the Nordic Empire with no leader and caused it to fragment and lose it's territory in High Rock and Morrowind.

Nords never won any battle in a devastating manner. The battles against both the Falmers and Alduin were hard fought and would have lost both of them, if chance didn't favour them.
