The radio will have whatever song you want if you buy it for PC and install the inevitable music replacer mod. That's what I'm doing since I really don't like 50's era music at all.

I don't think Elvis has been confirmed but i highly doubt it since only a small portion of his music was in the fifties. Also that is considered console bashing and the mods will crucify you for it.

Elvis is amazing, but I doubt we will hear much of him other then the Kings. As much as I would love some of his Sun recordings in Fallout. It probably won't happen. Besides, Fallout is more swing. Less rock.

Agreed. I have always lived in/near Memphis, so Elvis is basically imbued in me. But I dont think 90% of Elvis's music would fit in to the Fallout world since music like The Mills brothers and Ella Fitzgerald are more the norm than Elvis and the like.

What does it matter? You can always plug your media player in your xbox and listen to the everything you like. Same goes for pc.. It wont even interfere other sounds in the game =/

Elvis did not become a continuing Vegas act until the 70's. This was also known as the Fat Elvis years.

In the 50's, Elvis was still getting his career going in Memphis. Other than a concert or two, he may have not performed in Vegas much in the 50's.

It's not the 50's anymore.
They have an entire school devoted to Elvis impersonation, in game... That alone implies the passage of time, and that by the point in the timeline that we are playing Fallout, Elvis has risen through the charts to become the King, then raised his cholesterol through peanut butter sandwiches till he died. There were impersonators before he died, but not until after the 50s stage of his career.

Culturally, the Fallout world approximates the 1950, but the great war was in, 2077(?). We really don't know that much about what life is really like in pre-war America. Most of the clues we have come from either government propaganda or mass media images. For all we know life back then was radically different from what surviving media images have told us.

Back to the topic Elvis, be it fat Elvis or Skinny Elvis, is almost synonymous with Las Vegas. The big problem is that I don't imagine that licensing Elvis songs comes cheaply. Sinatra would be another perfect fit, but his songs are probably on the pricey end of the spectrum as well.

I'm sure the music will just be like FO3. A bunch of songs I never heard of but nonetheless grew to love.

I'd say that it definitely was seeing as how they had "dangerous contact sports" that required actual armor and not just a uniform. If pre-war America got to the point where it was entertaining its people with sports that required reinforced armor I'd have to say that it was very different from the 1950s images seen plastered everywhere.

The end of the 1950's is the point of divergence, as you can see things went very very differently in the fallout version.
