Sound issue (Stuttering, buzzing sound, NPC voice cut out et

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 4:43 am

Hello there,

I've been playing Skyrim for about an hour and i've noticed something incredibly annoying. Theres a reasonably loud buzzing sound in the background. When i'm talking to an npc sometimes their voice will cut out and the buzzing will become more apparent.

Any fixes for this? I can't really play until i can fix it.

I changed the sound settings to 44khz in the control panel and that fixed the buzzing. Haven't seen any NPCs yet to confirm dialogue disappearing. Hopefully there'll be a patch for this, as it's actually annoying to have to change your settings in the control panel to play the game.

Also damn it Beth, make your hotkeys in menus work if you rebind crucial ones to your mouse.

Binding sheathe weapon to mouse4 screws over drop item from the inventory.

I'm getting this issue as well. Using onboard sound, but I've got a £250 mobo (http://www.gigabyte.com/microsite/259/images/features.html). From the mobo site:

"GIGABYTE G1-Killer motherboards* are the world’s only gaming motherboards to feature onboard Creative’s top-of-the-line Sound Blaster X-Fi Digital Audio Processor with X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity? and EAX? Advanced HD? 5.0 technologies, allowing you to experience sound in your gaming world exactly as you would in real life."

change your sound to 16 bit 44100 Hz. That should fix all sound issues

I managed to solve the issues by changign my sound card to work at 48Khz. Seeing as how some people are saying they got it to work at 44100 Khz i guess you should just experiment with those setting sand see what works for you.
