Now, I don't know for sure, but aren't those spears impaled in the mammoth? Or are they ballista arrows (they seem dwarven made)? If they are indeed spears, do you think that maybe Bethesda could make them available for use after the 1.8 patch, since apparently all the code for it is in said update?

Their Dwarven spears used by the Dwemer themselves before they vanished. A bunch of them may actually have been hunting that Mammoth at the very moment they vanished, since it remained untouched.
