I know the dark brotherhood and thieves guild both give you special armor sets (shrouded, reg thieves guild armor, and nightingale) but I haven't heard of any sort of equivalent special heavy armor. Are there any special heavy armor sets or is it just regular iron, steel, dwarven, ebony, ect.?

I'd like to know that to , but after 50h of gameplay i havn't encountered any special heavy armor as a complete set (helmet,gauntlets,boots and armor) just individual pieces (that i later disenchanted ,and enchanted on to Ebony)

Well, there is steel plated armor and ancient Nordic armor that I have found laying around if that counts? Not really "special" but still different from the "main" armor sets.
