Speech-- if it is like fallout, how do u level it?

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 3:42 am

I am confused as to how u can level this skill up.

In oblivion u could put time and effort into getting better. In fallout it is static ability raised by skill point expenditure.

I just hope that increasing it will not be done by buying and selling 100s of arrows one by one ...

You could, but why? There's no real advantage to grinding this system.

I think charm is gone in Skyrim. There are no perks for it in the Illusion tree, and Speech was given much more importance. It would be pretty unfair if Illusion could do sneak, speech, and illusion all in one skill.

Well what i - obviously - meant was I′d like a system in which skill increases depend on the VALUE of the items bought and sold and not just on the number.

Visual reconnaissance suggests that it's voulmetric and not related to value.

It's based on number of transactions. Lots of transactions=lots of skill points.

Indeed. No matter how dump your brute is just selling big amounts of useless junk will make you a speechcraft master. Well done Beth, well done indeed.

So... if there's a money glitch with vendors... like most beth games... Speech will be really really easy. This excites me. I want it maxed early.

No, investing heavily into the speechcraft tree will make you a speechcraft master. Persuasion attempts also increase your skill and it looks like there will be a lot of them.

Exactly.

There's a bit of a, dare I Say it, Mass Effect Style to the speech this time around with either Persuasion or Intimidation being the focal points.

Hum I have looked at the "speechcraft" perktree and there are I think 3 perks the could be associated with speechcraft there ... so "heavy investment" seems not justified .. I think. Anyway I hope playing with speechcraft will still be fun.
