SpeedMult question

Post » Wed Dec 05, 2012 6:02 pm

I'm trying to slow down a particular NPC, so I give him an ability that has a constant effect 35 magnitude SpeedMult value modifier with detrimental checked.
Now he's fast. Like, really fast. Does anyone know how to slow something down? I want him to be at about half his normal speed.

That's odd, I just did the same and it works as intended. Detrimental checked, 40 magnitude SpeedMult and he moves almost half as slow. I gave the ability to his race though, not to the specific actor.

That isn't an option for me unfortunately. Hmm. Very strange...

I just tried to apply the spell to a specific actor and I can confirm that it doesn't work. No idea why.

Try a Spell Magnitude of 0.35. Speed multiplier spell effects (including weapon speed) work differently from the Actor Value "SpeedMult".

Hrm. I wonder if it's the same bug that affects setting SpeedMult from a script? Try adding the slowdown ability to the actor, then from the console, change his CarryWeight actor value and see if he's slow after that.

Yeah speedmult changes don't take effect automatically. What I did was make the magic effect a dual value modifier and set inventory weight as the second value with a change of 0.01.

Well that's the odd thing, he does have a change in speed. It's just in the wrong direction. He's the flash.
