Hey all,

Another question: What is the base cost for conjuration spells at 0 skill? The two wiki's give two different answers:

1) This one says the most expensive spell is 1200:

2) While this one says it is 741:

The first one also states that at 100 skill, the base spell cost is reduced by 41% which puts the 1200 down to 708. So which one is it? haha

Base cost of Storm Thrall is 1200.

If you are on the PC, you can check it yourself with Creation Kit, or you can add the spell via console in-game to check the cost directly.

In general, when UESP and Wikia disagree about something, go with UESP's number.

I would just forget that WIKI exists. The UESP is monitored by a very stringent and competent crew of administrators. Anyone can edit a section, but it will be changed pending no proof. That WIKI is a run-a-muck of false information.

That is not to say the UESP is without it's false statements. But it is known to be quite the reliable source for several years now.

Thanks guys. I appreciate it. Can anyone verify the 41% portion of my question? I'm thinking 360 base magicka for my character should be enough to cover the storm thrall cost however I'd love to know for sure.

Storm Thralls are glitched, it is just a permanent storm atronach, potent if you have the perk. They don't get the fortified healing buff other thralls have.

Yup. I will confirm 41% number. I did a calculation a while ago with few other spells and confirmed it.

With 100 in Conjuration and the Perk, Storm Thrall magicka cost is 356.

360 base magicka won't be enough...41% of 1200 is 708.

With the Master perk, the base cost is 356.

Yes sir.

Cost reduction perk. Reduces cost of Master spells by half. Further reduction can be attained by wearing cost reduction apparel.

Necromancer's Amulet 25%
Circlet of Peerless Conjuration 25%
Master Robes of Conjuration 22%
Ring of Peerless Conjuration 25%

Additional 97% cost reduction can be achieved by wearing all 4 of these off-the-shelf items. 1200 base cost spell can cost 10 magicka to cast.
100% cost reduction can be achieved with enchanting.
